I got this game a while ago and decided to give it a go whilst waiting on something.. i gotta say, this game is beautifully made.. very challenging but addictive - its exactly what a 2d puzzle platformer should be, and at the time of this writing its £0.64 on steam, i gotta say at that price snap it up because you WILL be addicted. i know that im going to be highly frustratedly addicted to playing this

Stonerid is a challenging indie platformer that builds its entire identity around precision movement, environmental manipulation, and relentless trial-and-error gameplay. At first glance, it resembles many side-scrolling platformers inspired by the indie boom of the early 2010s, but beneath its familiar structure lies a surprisingly creative mechanic centered around shifting between parallel dimensions. Developed by Enitvare, the game combines difficult platforming with puzzle-oriented level design, creating an experience that constantly forces players to think carefully about both movement and timing. While its brutal difficulty and repetitive deaths may not appeal to everyone, the game succeeds in delivering a rewarding challenge for players willing to embrace its demanding design. The story takes place around the mysterious Atronast Mountain, where a dangerous toxic corruption has begun spreading throughout the land. Players journey through hostile environments in search of answers while encountering strange creatures, environmental hazards, and remnants of a world slowly falling apart. The narrative itself remains fairly minimal, serving mostly as a backdrop for the gameplay r…

'Stonerid' attempts to differentiate itself within the crowded platformer genre by introducing a "dual-world" mechanic where players must flip between two parallel dimensions to navigate obstacles. While the concept of shifting perspectives to reveal hidden platforms or avoid hazards is theoretically interesting, the execution is hampered by frustrating level design and unintuitive physics. The visual style, though intended to be atmospheric and hand-drawn, often feels muddy and inconsistent, making it difficult to distinguish lethal hazards from the background scenery. This lack of visual clarity, combined with a stiff movement system, frequently results in deaths that feel like the fault of the game’s presentation rather than the player’s skill. The gameplay experience is further degraded by a steep and poorly balanced difficulty curve that prioritizes trial-and-error over rewarding mechanics. Because the character's jumps often lack the precision required for the game’s tight platforming sections, the central "flipping" mechanic becomes a source of aggravation rather than a clever tool for puzzle-solving. Additionally, the game lacks significant narrative or mechanical variety …
