I’m sorry to give this one a bad review but I didn’t find this game enjoyable. - The story is lame (even for a HOG). - A lot of back tracking without a map - The voice acting is terrible + The graphic is a bit dated but still looks nice + The puzzles were OK + it runs fine on Windows 11. I didn’t experience any bugs.

Does not work on Windows 10, has a terrible lag that makes it unplayable. I tried everything (compatibility settings etc) but it didn't work. It's a pity as it seems to be a nice game.

Whispered Secrets: The Story of Tideville Collector’s Edition is a classic hidden object puzzle adventure developed by Grandma Studios and published by BFG Entertainment that leans heavily into atmosphere, family-driven stakes, and slow-burn mystery. It presents itself as a familiar yet emotionally grounded experience within the HOPA genre, framing its investigation around a deeply personal loss rather than abstract danger. The Collector’s Edition expands the core game with bonus content and extras, aiming to provide a fuller, more curated experience for players who enjoy unraveling mysteries at a deliberate pace. The narrative begins with a quiet promise of a fresh start. You and your son Tim arrive in the coastal town of Tideville hoping to leave the past behind, only for that sense of calm to shatter almost immediately when Tim vanishes without explanation. This disappearance anchors the entire story and gives the investigation an emotional urgency that goes beyond curiosity. As the search unfolds, it becomes clear that Tideville is no ordinary town; past disappearances, half-forgotten rumors, and uneasy residents hint at a long-standing pattern that has been quietly ignored.
I experienced no launch problems, despite other reviews
I was surprised to find that, after a short look at last reviews, there were a few giving it a thumbs down because they couldn't launch it, even on Win 10. I don't know what systems they're smoking but it runs fine on Win 11 - just press play. This game is a real oddball. It has big, nicely cluttered hidden object scenes, the graphics are a little rough around the edges, the villain is a bit over-the-top, ambient music is good enough to leave it on, and my mouse actually sped up in-game. I played on Expert to get more play time, and found myself getting temporarily stuck quite a few times. This was due to several reasons. Sometimes I didn't realise just how many hidden scenes there would be in the main story. Sometimes there's some decent backtracking - there's no map, but I didn't think this mattered. Actually, in the hidden scenes I had trouble with some words. Sometimes due to my own skill, sometimes just poor wording on the part of the game. Some examples: 'kiwi' is in the game twice - the fruit and the animal. Watermelon is in twice - the whole fruit, and a slice. Some of the worst offenders? 'Dagger' looks …
