Hello, I'm Faith! I don't often review HOGs, but this game had just come out when I purchased it, and I think it deserves some brief compliments. No story spoilers!
DIFFICULTY AND GAME QUALITY
I played on Casual difficulty. I play HOGs for the stories and a casual gaming experience. HOPs are among my favourite gameplay modes, and while the game offered a Match-3 alternative, I felt no need to utilise it. The stylised puzzles (Mini-games) that are common in the genre were of varying difficulty, even on Casual, in "Whispered Secrets: Cruise of Misfortune". This is not a bad thing, as the few times I was sorely confused, the Guide was able to help me effectively; some HOGs don't have a sufficient Guide! "Whispered Secrets: Cruise of Misfortune" had great quality overall. Good graphics and animations, sound design and voice acting. The HOPs and Mini-games were all well-made and of reasonable difficulty, and stayed within the theme of either the setting or room.
STORY AND COLLECTABLES
It was fun to find the Notes and connect all the parallels between the Eris and Titanic. The story itself was executed very well! Good game. Three parts to play if you include the last puzzle. Overall easy and interesting and fun story line
It is the typical hidden object game and you can guess the killer fairly early on and it wasnt creepy or had too much of the supernatual, only ghosts who dont actually communicate. There is plenty of find the items throughout and what i particurlarly like is the length, giving hours of fun. On casual, you can skip alot more if you cant or cant be bothered to do the mini games too.
Plain and simple fun! This is my favourite game genre, solving puzzles and riddles to relax after a stressful day at work! A straightforward game, not too taxing with some mini games to keep the thinking process going! Most enjoyable, highly recommended if casual games are your thing!
i enjoyed this title and would say it is well worth the 8 hours I put into completing it.
