Rather interesting in many ways. Game takes some new approaches and doesn't charge very much. Pixel-graphic cutscenes, defined weapon range, lot of graphical touches, and lot of in-game notes. You can tell this developer put his heart into it. I would recommend this game, only if you are wanting to try something a little experimental. It is still buggy, but that's almost not unexpected here. My main concern is the lack of save feature, except after the first chapter. That first chapter has a lot of gotcha moments, and it has a lot of unskippable cutscenes. It looks like the developer moved onto other projects, so it is what it is, folks. Experimental but also inexpensive. I played this game on ubuntu linux, with radeon mesa graphic drivers. I have not gotten past the first chapter, yet, but I enjoy adventure style games and twin-stick shooters. This game surprisingly does not have gamepad controller support, so try using the Steam Controller tool to map controls to your keypad. The game uses the Unity game engine (surprise) and it takes up 300 MBs of diskspace.

This is a game of wasted potential. I dig the retro style, the controls are bad but not terrible and the story is somewhat interesting, no saves, no checkpoint, unskippable cutscenes (sometimes they freeze your character) and the game is just barely a demo. The devs were supposed to deliver more chapters on the story and even DLCs but for reason unknown to me, the game was abandoned. Achievements are very easy, doable in an hour or so and like I said, the game could have been good but it was left unfinished, oh well. Deadly escape gets 3 red explosive barrels out of 9 zombie experimental monkeys.

Deadly Escape is an independent survival horror game developed and published by Ominous Entertainment that embraces the spirit of genre classics rather than attempting to modernize them. Built around a minimalist presentation and a persistent sense of danger, the game places players inside a devastated facility where the dead roam freely and every step toward freedom carries significant risk. Its premise is simple: after awakening injured and alone, the protagonist must navigate a nightmare of locked doors, hostile creatures, and scattered remnants of those who failed to survive. The setup may feel familiar, but it serves as an effective foundation for a tense and atmospheric experience. What immediately stands out is the game's commitment to old-school survival horror design. Deadly Escape strips away conveniences and instead asks players to rely on observation, caution, and memory. Exploration is a central component, with players uncovering clues and progressing through a series of chapters that gradually reveal what happened within the complex. Environmental storytelling plays a major role, allowing the setting itself to communicate the desperation and chaos that unfolded befor…

Pretty interesting survival horror game that feels a lot like a 2d version of Resident Evil. It's very buggy and clunky, but it's still a very good effort from an indie dev.
