Almost the same as the first trip to vinelands (TTV) game, but also really simple and just good, my favourite 1€ game series

TTV2 is a pretty simple game, but I actually had a good time with it 😄. It’s easy to get into, and after a few minutes I was already trying to do better and beat my previous run. Nothing too complicated, just jump in and play. Some moments got surprisingly intense 😂 and I definitely messed up more than once because I got too confident. It’s not a huge game with tons of content, but for some quick gaming sessions it works really well. Pretty fun little game 👍

Trip to vinelands 1 and 2 are the perfect example of a simple concept made brutal with its design and gameplay. You manuever a character around screens of varying obstacles, most notably the wall of vines that slowly (or sometimes not so slowly) engulf the screen, as well as various moving gears and saws. Sounds simple enough, yet the game does everything in its power to make this simple task a test of your endurance, dexterity, and reaction time. Both games are designed with one thing in mind; keep moving, or get crushed. The longer you play, the more you try to stick to this strategy. And yet, this game somehow manages to punish you for this line of thinking as well. The game teaches you that nothing in the environment is helping you; the vines are constantly in motion, ready to engulf you if you remain still for even a second. The gears that spin around are about the same speed as you are, so you can never truly outrun them. It rewires your brain to remember: " I must not stop". Yet, sometimes, you find yourself running straight into a wall of vines in the next screen because you held right the entire time. I don't think this is a flaw, in fact, I think this is exactly the tools…
