About Jung's Labyrinth
Based on teachings of Carl G. Jung, this game explores the themes of so called Individuation process and active imagination - the game allows you to talk with your inner archetypes and leads you on the road to your true Self. The game's progress is based on the classic hero journey, where you have to confront your Ego archetypes, notice your Shadow projections; integrate your Shadow; work with your Soul archetypes; integrate your Anima and Senex; and only then you will be allowed to progress to your Self.
You can play in VR by switching to the beta branch virtual_reality and restarting the Steam client after installing the game. Only Oculus Rift S supported.More information about VR support: https://store.steampowered.com/newshub/app/709710/view/2878320049177998679

What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players praise this game as a thought-provoking and educational exploration of Jungian psychology with compelling audio logs and meaningful character interactions that encourage self-reflection. However, common complaints center on tedious maze navigation with repetitive corridors, technical performance issues, obtuse design that frustrates some players enough to abandon the experience, and motion sickness caused by the labyrinth sections, though fans of psychology who tolerate these issues find the unique concept worthwhile.
This game, in itself, is beautiful and thought-provoking. Archetypes are relatively new to me, so discovering this game was like coming across a gem in the wild. I didn't (but I think I should have) take a copious amount of notes playing this, yet I learned so much more than I excepted. Both, psychology and literature are something I have a slew of passion for; it was almost a guarantee I would enjoy the game, so I might be a bit biased with the review. I have a major literature -themed test coming up, let's hope I can put my new knowledge to use. Face your inner subconscious, ego, and the shadow to find your true self. In general, this game is a pleasant experience. This is a novel and educating take on the 12 Jungian archetypes. You may, also, find an archetype you, yourself most relate to. The story; dialogue, characters, and such, are genuinely done well. The atmosphere is great, nothing too special. Though, I think it takes a specific type of creativity and inspiration to fully experience and understand this game. If you are completely new to archetypes, please listen to all of the dialogue. Also, the game had a significant negative side; HOW THE ♥♥♥♥ ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO NAV…3 found this helpful
This is an intriguing little game that teaches Jungian psychology in a truly unique way. It's also janky, obtuse, and frustrating. I love the audio logs, the interactions with the various archetypes, the character beneath the interactions with them. I found moving through the labyrinth tedious after an hour of it. I get that that's likely what the developer was hoping to deliver, but it prevented me from finishing the game (I watched a play-through on YouTube instead to see what I missed.) If you are curious about Jung, are forgiving of jank, and are willing to meander through a maze with corridors that all look the same, definitely give it a shot. I wish I could recommend it simply because it's such a unique idea and has some genuine sharp moments (the King has some real good advice) but for the reasons above, it's not for me.2 found this helpful
This game made me horribly nauseous with too many mazes and I couldn't stop playing until I 100%'d it, but, to be fair, that sounds like my attitude toward life. Thumbs up for a two 2-hour philosophical journey
W Carl game
I liked it
For those educated or interested in the subject of the Psyche, Jung, etc. it's cool. I LOVE that the music of MJDorian is used and recognized it instantly. The content is making one actually think about people and situations of their own life - I am not sure if this is intentional but it works really well. One thing that got sort of annoying: I have a very powerful hardware setup but in the last labyrinth, my PC basically died and had 15 FPS - this must be some huge bug. Otherwise cool.
