A game that touches on difficult topics such as depression, alcoholism and suicide. Unfortunately, however, the continuous level loadings and graphics that can make some players nauseated make everything less than pleasant. You can view my full review here: https://youtu.be/0pFWewYJlpA Although VR support was taken off the store page by the developer, I can confirm that as of today (January 2, 2020) that VR still works fine. However, I would warn anyone to not buy this for the VR experience in the future as who knows when and if the VR will stop functioning properly without official support. There is full locomotion with smooth turning or teleportation. Your motion controllers are used as a gamepad (you might as well use your gamepad). This is a walking simulator for VR. It took me approximately 2 hours to finish the game. The gameplay involved a lot of walking from point A to point B and also gazing at certain objects, or getting close enough to them, to progress the story. There is no dialogue. The whole story is told through the visuals & mood of the game. However, several game assets are repeated often, including the use of a bicycle. You'll be seeing your apartment, the desert, the hospital, and the concert hall repeatedly throughout the game. Surreal, extremely sad story about a guy whos cellist wife gets into accident during their bike trip. She loses her ability to play which leads into depression, substance abuse and ultimately suicide.
Anamorphine is a walking simulator that depicts some emotional events. If that's your thing, great, but I really wasn't a fan. They did do some cool/trippy stuff to mess with the player's head though.
Imagine your body and your head rotate on completely different axis independent of each other. You turn around and look over here and now forwards actually moves you backwards because it's not been oriented. I honestly have no idea how this has won so many awards. I think lots of people overlooked the bugs as stylistic choices with suspended disbelief because its covering the topic of mental illness.
