About Unrested Development

Jacob needs some help being a reluctant hero. His sister, Milly, is a mage in training. Their cat, Suki, sometimes turns into a brawling catgirl. And then there's the ghost who can't find his body....

Oh, and the town's been captured by an insane cult. There are mutated creatures roaming the land. And somebody, somewhere, could use a good spanking.

This is a classic style RPG with an amusing story, hand drawn enemies, and a nice musical score. You'll play a team of four unique characters as they roam the land fighting monsters and an evil cult. With any luck, they'll find the right dead body and put an end to the curse of Wizard Weather.

(Got this game for free as a part of a developer's submission to SteadyGiveaways. Thanks!)
Yeah...it seems more like an "Untested Development"...
Another RPG Maker game that sounds generic and is generic. Sure, I'll admit that I got maybe 1 chuckle in the beginning and 1 at the end, but the rest of the game is another story. First thing to note is that when you start the game, you'll deal with random monster encounters. During your play, you'll fight monsters ranging from fair (as in "hold Enter to win") to "Run away immediately!" (to put it simply, if it's any form of lizardman or a possessed tree, running away is advised). You'll know to run away as they'll appear without any buddies, they'll take very little damage from your attacks while dishing out a ton of damage. In other words, this game needs balance. Speaking of balance, expect to fight enemy recolors, TONS of repeat bosses, and even one boss that requires 30 minutes to kill via magic attacks. Speaking of characters, one user pointed out that you basically have 4 mages...I'd like to say that isn't true. You have an OP hero, the mage (who turns out to be useless), the healer (who becomes more of a compe…

I know it's a short game going in, which is cool with me, because I spend a lot more on going to a movie which is even shorter and I don't get to play it. I like the story. The characters. The little joking they do. It's got an anime feel to it, and not just because of the drawing style. I'm taking my time, exploring, and looking for everything. Gonna wring my two bucks worth from it. So far, I do not see any imbalance like one reviewer posted. Milly is not hitting for more damage with her wand than she does with her spells. That's not even close to true. I see I'm not the only one who found that review to be wrong. I'm doing okay against the tough lizards, but that might be because I leveled up more than a player who tries to rush through. It might also be because I got the game after some patches. Mainly, I got the game now because I'm looking forward to the sequel with the catgirls. :) I'm enjoying it so far.

This is a really cute RPG game that I would love to play in my free time or when I'm just bored. It really takes my mind off of things and I would recommend it to some of my friends. I enjoyed playing it for a bit, however it is like most RPG games. Then again I was told that it was made with a basic "Make your own RPG game," so that slides. It is a really cute game and I will definitally continue to play it.

This game is fun, but much to short for even a 1,99€ price tag (during sales). The story of the cat goes nowhere. You collect shards and momentos without any use for them. And the game is just long enough to be non-refoundable. At 49ct it would be recommendable...

Unrested Development is a retro-inspired role-playing game developed by Rock Cow Productions and published by Pig Ignorant Entertainment. It embraces the charm of classic 16-bit RPGs while carving out its own identity through a blend of quirky humor, colorful characters, and an intentionally offbeat fantasy setting. Rather than delivering a grim tale of heroes and destiny, the game leans into comedic storytelling, creating an adventure filled with ridiculous scenarios, eccentric personalities, and playful dialogue. The result is an experience that feels nostalgic without simply copying the games that inspired it, making it an enjoyable choice for players who appreciate old-school RPG design with a strong comedic twist. The story follows Jacob, an ordinary young man whose peaceful life is disrupted when a bizarre cult seizes control of his hometown. Alongside his determined sister Milly, an ambitious young mage, the mysterious cat Suki, who transforms into a powerful cat girl during combat, and a ghost desperately searching for his missing body, Jacob embarks on a journey to uncover the truth behind the strange phenomenon known as Wizard Weather. As the group travels across a world…
