In Captain Forever you build spaceships while you are flying them. There's no cumbersome editor. Just blast an enemy ship apart, grab a piece with your mouse, and bolt it to your ship. Done. What's more, everything is physically simulated so ship design has a huge impact on flight characteristics and combat capability.

Captain Forever Trilogy includes the games Captain Forever, Captain Successor, and Captain Impostor. Forever is the original, award winning game. It's vanilla. Successor adds tons of new modules and ship types. It's a whole ice-cream shop. Impostor blows the formula apart by allowing you to instantly clone any of the game's enormous, fantastical ships. It's an all in ice-cream shop food fight.

With its brand new renderer, Trilogy is faster, slicker, and shinier than ever. What's more, the new wing shaped modules massively increase the scope for cool looking ships and thoughtful design. Captain Forever Trilogy is a remarkable collection that proves innovative ideas can outshine sheer complexity. Developed and published by Farbs, the trilogy combines three interconnected games built around a unique premise: constructing and upgrading a spacecraft by salvaging parts from defeated enemies in real time. Went from playable to unplayably laggy.
Captain Forever is a fun simple little game - it does get a little boring once you've got the max level parts for your ship and you become pretty much unstoppable. Captain Successor is an extremely frustrating game. You spend what feels like an eternity looking for an enemy, get into a fight, and then get jumped by higher level ships. It tries to innovate by introducing new thrusters and weapons but half of them are so utterly useless you're better off restarting then trying to fight with them. To add on to the frustration I can never find the parts I need, I'm always in need of thrusters but the game never spawns equal level enemies with parts I don't have. Captain Imposter is gimmicky and a bit too easy.
