About Captain Forever Remix

You built your spaceship out of Plasma Cannons, bulkheads, and a couple of Twin Thrusters. Just ahead there's a massive enemy vessel bristling with MegaBoom Missiles. You want those missiles. You need those missiles. You dart forward and maneuver deftly between the spinning RipSaw blades on the front of the enemy craft and blast away at the Command Core. BOOM! It explodes leaving behind a haul of weapons and thrusters. Those MegaBoom Missiles are free for the taking. You quickly attach them to the front of your own ship, making it much larger and more powerful...

Can you create the raddest spaceship? Captain Forever Remix is the spaceship builder roguelike. Voyage across the Solar System and blast apart randomly-generated enemies for spare parts.

You better build a pretty tough ship, because you're gonna need it. Your little brother turned into a bubblegum mutant and is being a total butthead. He froze the Sun, poked out Jupiter's eye, drank Neptune's oceans, and cracked Earth like an egg! Set off across a messed-up Solar System to put a stop to the big jerkface once and for all!

Captain Forever Remix is an officially-licensed re-imagining of the indie classic Captain Forever.

Build your ship bit-by-bit

Protect your Command Core with bulkheads, weapons, & boosters to customize your ship. Every piece you add affects movement, combat capabilities, and armor.

Plunder enemies for new parts

Every enemy ship is randomly generated and presents a unique combat challenge. Go in guns blazing or pick them apart carefully so that the leftover Ship Bits can be grafted to your ship!

Choose your tools

Obliterate your enemies with ScatterBlasters and MegaBoom Rockets or shred them to pieces with the RipSaw. Make the fastest ship in the Solar System with Uniboosters and Twin Thrusters, protect it with Bubble Shields, Repair Bulkheads, and tons more!

Captain Forever - Remixed

Experience all-new gameplay that wasn't in the original cult-hit Captain Forever. Collect rare Power Bulkheads to access special abilities, unlock new starter kits, discover new Ship Bits, and avoid deadly traps laid by King Kevin!

A new look, a new universe

Remix features a completely new art style that draws inspiration from the 1990's heyday of amazing & weird cartoons. Tour a Solar System in disarray as you set out to put a stop to the insane shenanigans of your mutant little brother & get payback!

If you're looking for Captain Forever, buy the Trilogy. Or maybe Reassembly. This game is sectioned in levels; kill the highest-tier enemy, and you get teleported to the next level shortly after. When you teleport, all ship modules left in the field vanish, so you have to hurry. To be fair, the enemy AI leaves you alone before the teleport, but personally the enforced fight-rebuild phases felt very restrictive compared to the original seamless experience in Captain Forever. It's annoying. The art style is... okay, but the accompanying characters and dialogue were plain immature. They also block your sight when talking. If there's anything I like about this game it would be that there is a healing module. Elsewise there is a variety of weapons, but most just get outranged by lasers.

Hard an unforgiving, gives no space for creativity, controls could be better. Maybe worth it for 81 cents

It is a fun arcade game for what it is and that is why I recommend it. That said, The game needs some serious updates as there is a lack of game mechanics and elements that by the time you unlock all the kids, you are really burnt out over. No resource saving, just DEAD and everything you worked for over the past hour is lost. Trying to build your ship, what a pain! You better move quickly else the timer will run out and half the stuff you wanted is gone. I made serval attempts on easy and got to Pluto once due to BS WTF moments like a perfectly good ship with shield getting one tapped. It needs balanacing, it needs multiplayer, it needs quest or something because killing other ships and grabbing their parts does get old. I do not see this game ever getting the love it deserves so it is what it is and honestly I think the developer knows this game needs more but is just a bit unwilling to add more.

Although the premise seems fun, the execution is flawed on many levels. You spend 3 minutes building hurriedly your spaceship that hopefully doesn't go in circles too much just to see most of its elements getting destroyed by the passing much stronger enemy. The combat strategy element is almost non-existent as you only try to orbit the enemy on the right side with clunky movements. No point farming and building bigger spaceships as the elements are always lower class than the target opponent's whose cannons will quickly reduce your setup to no weapons or messed-up thrusters heap of space junk. It would make more sense to allow the player to slowly collect and store higher-tier parts to use in the initial setup and letting them choose how challenging playthrough they wish to have. To sum up, the game just makes you frustrated and ultimately see the pointlessness of your effort.

while a neat idea, in practice the gameplay ends up being 90% trying to find literally 1/2 a second of not being constantly harassed enough to build a even slightly usable ship. what initially seems like a cool dynamic ship building and combat game ends up being a extremely tedious time of not really getting to play the game. even just the time between levels is not really enough to build much especially with the time pressure of losing all the parts you dont desperately attach.

Cool and very neat. Sometimes I spend a long time building my perfectly balanced and ingenious ship just to see it blown up buy a random enemy who happens to be two levels better then me. I think the trick is that you really have to pick your battles.
