About Squally

Squally is a 2D puzzle RPG game that teaches video game hacking!

In other words: this game teaches you the "hardest" parts of computer science in the coolest way possible.

After crash landing on a strange planet, Squally must help the inhabitants to fight the evil forces plaguing their lands. Squally can make use of their supernatural powers to manipulate the world around them -- using x86/x64 assembly.

Who is this game for?

Anybody with sufficient motivation should be able to complete the main storyline in this game! For the experienced hackers out there, this can be a great refresher and a test of your assembly language knowledge.

This game does not assume you have any background in programming. Anybody can play!

What does it teach?

The main skill that Squally aims to teach is assembly language (x86/x64). Assembly language is one of the most crucial but difficult to master skills for an aspiring hacker.

However do not fear! Assembly language is not as hard as people think! Unfortunately, it is often taught in a very poor manner. Squally is a game to solve this problem by assembly language approachable and fun.

Supplementary topics like binary and hex are taught through puzzles and gameplay.

Note: Linux and Mac builds teach x64 assembly, whereas Windows teaches x86 assembly. This is due to technical constraints on the compilers used for each platform.

Do not buy this it is full of bug and it don't offer what it says "The main skill that Squally aims to teach is assembly language (x86/x64)." I played for 2 hours now requesting a refund!!

Well, this game deserves a good review. immersive music, beautiful surroundings, and the best of all, is that u can learn asm bit by bit while u playing it. awesome

It's actually a great game, I find myself playing out of boredom. The card game is gold and I wish there was more to that aspect of the game. Highly recommend the game if you buy it through Steam and support the developer directly, NOT though Guided Hacking.
