About The Adventures of Kusoge

In the kingdom of Settingsland, the Tyrant King reigns supreme. According to prophecy, only one of the legendary Candy Cane Knights will be able to defeat the Tyrant King.

In this comedy RPG adventure, step into the armor of Kusoge, accomplished user of the Candy Cane Greatsword style and one of the few who can properly wield peppermint candy canes, as you seek to free your homeland from the tyranny of Tyrant King and his Four Gehenna Knights. On the way you will find allies, fight through dungeons, and maybe, just maybe, find true love.

...Or at least get laid.

FEATURES:
*FOUR HOURS of single player content! That's more than modern AAA FPSes!
*Irreverant humor, some of it of adult nature!
*Five unique dungeons! Wowee!
*Music! NPCs! Dialogue! Shops!
*A classic JRPG experience, but with lots of silliness to boot!
*Made by a lifelong gamer with no programming experience!

(Got this game for free as a developer's submission to SteadyGiveaways. Thanks, man!)
My dad is a great waaaaarriorrrrrr...He shoots missiles from his eeeeeeyes! ...I gotta get that out of my head...
The Adventures of Kusoge is an RPG Maker game and...it does pain me to say it...it was pretty bad, but it was far from the worst RPG Maker game I've ever played. It follows a Candy Cane Knight, an OP hero who meets an enigmatic man who basically wastes him and teleports him back home without his OP gear. From then on, you enter a world of... in a word? Absurdity. From my playthrough (don't worry, these issues will be tended to by the developer as I was playing and providing live feedback to the dev), I've noticed a wall you could walk on, a few typos, a high enemy encounter rate, and a low variety of monsters per area (this won't be fixed...at least not that I know of). Speaking of the monsters though, you'll get 2-5 (rarely 6) of the same monster at a time...after a while, it does get old. I wasn't too fond of the soundtrack as a few of them were slightly different variations of the same song...and some songs were just grating. Especially the ones sung by th…

what the ♥♥♥♥ I guess if the developer wanted to make something intentionally bad he 100% succeeded because everything was indeed exceptionally bad. Especially his singing. But also everything else, ranking this as one of the worst RPGMaker games I've ever tried playing. But you shouldn't play things that are just bad with no redeeming value!!! I shouldn't either!!!

===================FINAL REVIEW====================== You've played 6.8 hours since you wrote this review. Have you changed your mind? Pros - Many attempts at humor, low price, custom music and sprites, decent game balance. One or two good plot twists. Rat Bastard is a waifu. Cons - Game quickly begins to feel repetitive, nearly non-existent lore, fourth wall breaking, poor enemy variety and lazy level design. Go to town, go through maze, fight boss, repeat. After the credits is one last troll. Kusoge's gender plot thread was never completed. Final thoughts: Make a sequel to the game and take it more seriously; just because something is a parody of the RPG genre doesn't mean it has to be a bad game. On the other hand, Kusoge does mean ♥♥♥♥ game in Japanese. Tyrant King shouldn't have been the final boss as there was no buildup to him. I did beat the game so I'll sacrifice the 4 likes on my review as promised and change it to recommended. It was definitely an experience, I'll give it that. I don't know if the developer ever read my original negative review or if it hurt his feelings but if it did I apologize. I had fun playing The Adventures of Kusoge despite my complaints. Than…
