About An Odd Tale

Venture into a bizarre kingdom plagued with great evil and dry humor. Explore a vibrant open world and fight through a campaign of crazy characters and wild quests to save the world.

KEY FEATURES

Take on a variety of challenges

The Odd Kingdom is constantly changing, and you must adapt to each quest you take on. Switch to first-person to scale mountains with a grappling hook, fine-tune your movement to navigate past a dungeon’s traps, or even get a top-down perspective to cook in a restaurant.

Explore a lore (and comedy)-rich world

With each place you discover and person you meet, you’ll learn more about the mysterious past of the Odd Kingdom. Each interaction you have will bring you new insights, and laughs.

Customize your combat

From Barbecue Masters to Math Teachers, Pastry Lords to Unicorns, every class has a unique gimmick that changes the way you play. And with a wide-range of weapons to choose from, each with a unique ability, your fighting style can take on any shape.

Be a completionist—well, if you WANT to be…

The “notebook” is your most trusted tool. As you discover more about the Kingdom and the people within it, your notebook will fill up with more and more lore about the world you’re trying to save. Explore every inch of the Kingdom to light “braziers,” which doll out boones of trivia, history, and achievements for each one you find.

I tried playing your game and played for a total of .4 hours. The "quirky/funny" dialogue is in no way what it is intended to be and just comes off as boring and annoying. There is too much dialogue with nothing entertaining and important being said. For the time that I played, the game had me mostly walking A to B. The lack of a run option make the game take 5x more than it would with one. I am surprised that the game runs so ass on my computer especially looking at the system requirements. I stopped playing when I was told to learn a new spell and the game soft locked itself when I talked to a woman, skipping through the dialogue because it was so boring. Take this game down from Steam, I don't want to play it again, I don't think anyone would like it, or be able to play it. The reviews themselves are really suspicious as well because most are positive and looked faked. Unfunny and cringe.
Warning: Asset Flip! "An Odd Tale" is a godawful Synty Studios asset flip. The developer stole a bunch of low poly assets from Synty asset packs and dumped them in a blender to make a bare minimum viable product, much like the garbage Digital Homicide liked to infest Steam with before they tried to sue Valve and got their rear ends handed to them. The quality of this "game" is slightly worse than that of those aforementioned asset flips. And it's not free, it's monetised, so this is also not okay, it's another asset flip cash grab. What do you do in the game? It's basically a bunch of extremely low effort minigames hacked together with stolen assets from Synty and presumably most of the code was "borrowed" from someone else just like the assets were. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of th…
