it's no oxenfree but it's a pretty good time

Not as good as Oxenfree unfortunately. Visually pretty but such a slog to play. Characters, story and gameplay - all incredibly uninteresting.

Yeah this game blows. Uninteresting characters, boring ending, like 3 gameplay quirks, and there's a game-breaking bug in Satan's mansion that doesn't let you progress unless you spam the pause menu over and over. Just get Oxenfree.

I personally liked the game. I understand a lot of people don't think it's as good as Oxenfree or their other games, but I don't think that really contributes to my rating of this game. I do agree it isn't on Oxenfree's level, but I thought it was a fun enough story. Maybe less serious as well, so I wasn't as interested in what was going on, but I still did want to know what was going on next, and why we were there. It was fun to uncover.

Afterparty, the game that made me a fan of Night School Studios, what can I say about it? It's my favorite drinking game. For one, the art-style/graphical direction is absolutely fantastic, each area of the game drips with personality without a word being spoken and are genuinely intriguing to behold and explore. Beyond art-style, the gameplay is rather simple and straightforward as it is mostly about exploring the areas available to you for main/side quests broken up by the occasional minigame for said quests. The religious/spiritual humor is on-point as well, filled with jokes poking fun at how absurd religious faith can be when taken so literally. The star of the show though is the dialogue and drinking mechanic. Many of the scenes where you are in conversation give you the option to choose a Hell-coholic beverage that unlocks additional dialogue options depending on the drink's profile. There are sixteen by my count (not counting certain mission-specific shots). Replay value is fair, there are ~4 endings and at least two ways to finish most "acts" giving you the ability to enjoy a second run to explore the paths not taken, the dialogue & jokes not spoken, and the drinks …
