Unfortunately, much like a real commute, the novelty wears off after the first few stops. What begins as a pixelated journey soon devolves into an endless loop of trudging left and right through nearly identical train cars, engaging in dialogues so inconsequential they could be replaced by elevator music without loss. The game proudly offers controller-only controls, as if shunning the mouse were some daring design statement. In reality, it’s less “bold choice” and more “hope you enjoy thumb gymnastics while reading paragraphs of dialogue.” For a title so heavy on conversation, the lack of intuitive navigation feels like designing a library where all the books are behind locked glass. Story progression ambles forward at the pace of a distracted tortoise, with decisions carrying all the weight of a “paper or plastic” checkout query. [b]As boring as waiting for a train | KAMGUSTA's MINI REVIEW[/b] Your first thing to do is to set the walking speed to maximum - and it will still be slow. Then quit the game. Joking aside, it's a simple (1 hour length) 2D adventure with monologue dialogues, no inventory and multiple endings (depending on your choices). I got the perfect one on my first casual playthrough. Strangely, you have choose how to respond to people, in a "good" or in "bad" way, but not WHAT to respond - it comes after that choice. There are no options to "rewind" the chapter and make a different choice. It's a monodimensional game like the monorail in the title. 5/10 interesting concept but very buggy

I think the title screen may actually be the best part of the game. It paints a picture of a charming game about two cities connected by a monorail, but the mechanics and writing fail to deliver. You just walk up and down the same train with largely the same people and same points of interaction, with nothing really interesting happening at any point. Conversations are forgettable at best and the voice acting sometimes makes the already janky dialogue even worse. I like the premise, I like the visual style and I like to support games like this, so I'd love to be able to recommend this, but since even my first playthrough is feeling like a chore, I just can't.

i dont know if the heat this game has gotten is deserved. it is a point n click adventure, and like any of those it has its own world and twists. there's multiple endings and ways to handle things. i thought finishing sylvie and ahmal would unlock more playable characters, was a little strange to have character selection when there is never more than one option.
