By the end of the 21st century, as hopes for Earth’s future faded, the Great Exodus project was launched — a program to build interstellar arks capable of carrying humanity to distant planets. The ark is a marvel of engineering, but it takes years to build and has limited space. The first was completed after 15 years and mostly carried the elite.
