About Recolit
Recolit is a pixel art puzzle-adventure game where you search for lights in a town where night never ends.
Your spaceship crashes, and you find yourself in a dark town that looks just like any other, but that has something different about it. Its people go about their daily lives as if nothing was off, even though the sky above their heads is always black.
This person wants something to drink. This other person wants to play with a pigeon.
As you help them with these little, trivial things, you advance toward what really matters.
And then, the mysterious girl you met along the way tells you something:
"All right. I'll wait for you."

[i]Recolit[/i] is a bite-sized puzzle-adventure game that adorably renders an astronaut's journey on a planet that looks very much like a cozy seaside Japanese town. The overall tone itself is quite gentle yet mildly unusual, giving both endearing and melancholic vibes but never feeling like it'll press too deeply into one side. It does serve the narrative well though, never quite shoving the player forward with promise of cosmic mysterious nor endlessly plodding them around in repeating cloying situations. It allows the player's curiosity to be piqued at their own pace, whether it's the narrative, environment, or design that calls to them and that gentle subtlety is what I find most profound and special about [i]Recolit[/i]1 found this helpful
I really wanted to like this game. The visuals are charming, and as someone who lived a significant period in Japan it felt so nostalgic and cozy visuals wise. And story wise, I was really enjoying it. It's vague and intriguing in all the best ways that left me invested but never lost as to what the story was hinting towards. But the gameplay is a slog. And I say that as someone who enjoys slow cozy games and walking sims. The main gameplay loop is get a small bit of intriguing story, walk around solving "puzzles" that are actually just "fetch a random item while walking slowly through the environment and hand it to random person". If the puzzle sections moved a bit smoother, a little faster, I probably would like this game. But as is I couldn't bring myself to finish it.

Wouldn't recommend paying full price, kind of boring start, lots of puzzles are very easy... I did not find my money's worth of playtime or enjoyment in this game, but maybe someone else will...
This game has a very nice feel to it, and atmosphere just made me feel very happy. Lovely game, very unique. 10/10
