A Space for the Unbound

First, I have to say that I love the story of this game. What surprised me the most is how every character feels like they have their own story to tell. Through Atma's unique ability to enter people's minds, the game allows you to discover their hidden worries, memories, and personal struggles. The gameplay is also very creative, combining exploring the town, solving puzzles, playing mini-games, helping its residents, and discovering all the little details hidden throughout the world. However, the overall pacing is still quite slow. I spent a lot of time running back and forth across the map to complete objectives, and the amount of backtracking sometimes made the experience feel repetitive. The game also includes many mini-games, and some of them were a little challenging for me. For example, the Future Fighter mini-game was difficult because my nails are quite long. I had to keep pressing the buttons quickly, and I was honestly worried that I might break my nails LOL In the end, I decided to skip that mini-game and continue with the story. A majestic storytelling about grieving, delivered with one of the most memorable artstyle, characters, puzzle, and reference from Indonesian's early 2000s. The music nor soundtrack are also polished very well with all of the soundtrack fits to the story/settings, overall it's one of the game that you must play with sound on. The characters felt real with all of it's problema, and also being attached to this era, it makes me feels nostalgic The pixels art are also the best choice for the types of games like these. Delivering emotion and feels while staying "simple" to it's roots The story is also engaging, all cause it's kept elevating it's stakes and gameplay, making the players (or maybe just me) felt engage from the start and didn't realized that i already played for a couple hours. All lead's to one of the most satisfying ending (makes me sob a lil bit). While the puzzles could be ruthless sometimes, i was able to enjoyed every bit of it and had satisfying feels when i could finished it on my own. The puzzle placement is also perfect and doesn't feels like out of place The overall performance are running pretty well, maintaning 60+ FPS on every scene. All of this may be biase…

A space for the unbound es de esos juegos que te marcan y te acompañan quizás para siempre, toca temas sensibles así que handle with care. Un pixel art hermoso, una banda sonora que va de la mano (medio sad para mi gusto, pero debe ser parte de la idea), estilo side scrolling con puzzles que, si bien no son tremendamente complejos, requieren estar atentos a los detalles. Lejos lo mejor es su historia, pero recomiendo jugarla y no spoilearse. (y hasta el momento es el único juego que recomiendo platinar (aunque en estricto rigor es el último logro el que hay que sacar (si o si), y me parece que no es 100% necesario tener todos los demás). 10/10

Magnificent game. It's the kind of game that is best played going blind, when you have no idea where the gameplay or the story is going to take you. Don't watch trailers, don't look up the game : just play. Play and look in every nook and cranny, play and enjoy the music, play and let yourself get immersed in a beautiful story, never knowing what's real and what's not. Just play, I don't think you'll regret it.

Immersive and emotional romp through a non-western setting, which feels really rare in video games nowadays. Has some niggling issues with slow puzzle pacing and takes a moment to set up, but it's very beautiful and lands extremely well at its finish. Recommend for story enjoyers.

Ended up being a gut puncher that left me sobbing by the end. Story was absolutely beautiful and the puzzles were pretty fun.
