Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing

I grew up with this game, I love it to death but this is one of the worst ports I've ever played. It took me 2 hours and 40 minutes of gameplay alone to complete the first Grand Prix. First you need to boot the config file to actually make the game look playable on a modern monitor. It has ultrawide support too. I would continuously get to race 4 in the Chao cup and lap 2/3 or 3/3 it would crash and Id have to restart the whole grand prix, it would be fine if it was once or twice, but this took me 2 hours 40 in game time to completely the grand prix, probably like 4+ hours out of the game trying to fix it in any way I could. Limit the game to 60fps, set your default audio output to 16 bit 44100hz (CD QUALITY), Download an LAA Patcher Tool (I used NT Core's 4gb Patch), I then got an application load error, so I had to quit steam and launch steam in administrator, that somehow bypassed that error. Game ran fine until I hit the 4th race again, and it crashed final lap. I then downloaded DXVK Patcher. Bought it mainly to play Grand Prix in splitscreen with my family. Sadly, splitscreen only works in Quick Race… meaning Grand Prix is single‑player only. Negatives: - Very short Grand Prix. You can finish it in under 2 hours. - No achievements. This alone would give you a reason to keep playing. Of course, the Xbox 360 version does have achievements. There is no reason to 100% the games challenges. - ZERO mods to install. Positives: - Over 60 missions to complete, even though they don’t unlock anything. They are meaningless for me at least. - Large roster of characters to choose from. - Fun gameplay overall. Skip this and buy sonic all stars racing transformed

This was one of my favorite games ever growing up. I had it on the Wii (still do) and loved it to bits. It's still a really fun arcadey racing game to go back to on occasion and would still recommend buying even though Crossworlds came out recently. I just wish they added cloud saves at some point as it's a little bit tedious having to re-unlock everything after moving to a new device. That's not necessarily a bad thing as I don't mind having to do it, but having the option would have been nice.
