A pleasant little experience, worth a couple of bucks it asks for.

Rolled the sun through mazes - it napped and never woke up. Even the moon said, “Try a board game instead.”

Feels like playing a tech demo since it's so short and polished, but the levels are fun, the stages are pretty, and it's overall a lovely overall 2ish hour experience including the bonus levels.

Rolling Sun, developed and published by Mystik’Art, is a physics-driven platforming experience that attempts to merge mythological storytelling with momentum-based traversal across grand, ancient landscapes. Released during a period when many indie developers were experimenting with advanced engines, the game stands out for being built in CRYENGINE, giving it a visual identity that immediately distinguishes it from more minimalist physics platformers. At its core, Rolling Sun places players in control of a massive stone sphere imbued with the lingering power of a fallen Sun God, setting the stage for a journey steeped in celestial rivalry and ancient civilization aesthetics. The premise is simple yet thematically ambitious. You guide this rolling embodiment of solar energy across sprawling ruins inspired by Incan and Mayan architecture, navigating precarious platforms, floating structures, and environmental hazards. The overarching narrative revolves around reclaiming lost strength to challenge a rival Moon God, but the story remains largely atmospheric rather than dialogue-driven. Instead of cutscenes or overt exposition, the mythological framing serves as a contextual backdrop f…

Prone to motion sickness? WATCH OUT! It only took about 8-10 minutes of gameplay to make me sick. There's no control of the camera and it adjusts itself constantly and subtly as you're playing. The menu screen should be a red flag enough with the swirling around it does. The menu is oddly designed so if you click on the settings button the option to go back to the game is on the bottom left of the screen on top of the cryengine logo so it's hard to notice. The only controls for the game seem to be aswd for movement and space to jump. When the camera angle adjusts itself randomly as you play the angle of your jump changes with it. You just spawn in as a boulder with no lead up to why or what manner of magical boulder you are. The music is that odd sort of short repetitive tune I'd expect to hear blasting in an arcade. The visuals of the game are nice once you get into the game.
