RollTheEarth

RollTheEarth is a shovelware tier low poly/low effort 3D platformer/marble physics game. Roll the marble (in this case an "Earth" asset the developer ripped off from someone else) and roll around very low poly 3D environments created with some lulzy terrain generator and skinned with textures again ripped off someone else. What fun. At best this could be explained as some kind of home project or a student homework assignment... but that doesn't explain why this is being sold for money on Steam. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. While there's options to change the resolution for the game, they don't work (it put me on to some ridiculous mobile phone portrait aspect ratio). There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics, and it's obvious the developer never bothered to test this before dumping it on Steam. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many…

The game is fun, but it has many problems. First of all, there is no save feature that I can find. Whenever I start up the game, it puts me at level one, the tutorial. That's why I have so many hours in this game. I left it running so I wouldn't lose my place. Also, the jump button just doesn't work sometimes. Sometimes you can jump while in the air, sometimes you can't. Sometimes, you can't even jump on the ground. This is especially frustrating on level 6 where you have to jump on sinking ice cubes. If you miss one jump you die, but the jump button doesn't do anything a quarter of the time. This game is still fun. I love finding shortcuts like in level 3, but it has too many problems to reccomend.

Game description key-points: This Gamash, a rolling ball that looks as a mini Earth Overview: do some tasks and achieve the objective to complete a level. Process is as simple to move to a specific points and avoid obstacles.

This game has some interesting mechanics that lead to a very fun casual gameplay exepierience. The "earth" has a sort of mass that leads to slower turns and huge amounts of momentum just like I imagine the earth really is. It's not a perfect game and the levels are simple in design but get harder as you play.
