Volcanoids

Volcanoids is a hard one for me because I was actually the guy who convinced my friends to buy it I really liked the concept, the volcano erupts and the whole world becomes unlivable so you have to hide underground with your drillship, build it, upgrade it and slowly go deeper into the map But the more I played the more everything started to feel unfinished Crafting is a bit too complicated, enemies are incredibly dumb like some AI from the 2000s and there just isn't enough variety, T1 T2 T3 starts feeling like doing the same thing again with slightly different stuff The map is probably my biggest problem, it feels like a huge empty world where they placed a few buildings here and there, most locations look the same and exploration quickly becomes pointless because you already know what you're going to find Graphics aren't great but honestly I knew that before buying and that's not really the problem There is a really good game somewhere in Volcanoids, I love the idea and that's probably why I'm disappointed with it It just needed way more polish and more things to actually discover Can't recommend it in its current state

Seven years and they still can't make a full game without bugs. Pathetic.

It's just a massively unfinished product. A lot of the game needs to be entirely reworked. It has a great concept. I believe it has the potential to be a really good game, but it seems to have been in Early Access for quite some time now and I don't believe it will ever be a finished product. Devs seem more concerned with pumping out additional content than fine-tuning the base game and fixing existing issues. Combat is lackluster. You can pretty much defeat everything with a pickaxe or buzz-saw. Enemies are too infrequent. The combat loop gets old, real quick. the storage system is obnoxious and because of that, there is no reason to organize anything. A lot of the grammar and phrasing is just...odd. It's hard to understand at times. Combine that with a general lack of knowledge on most items and it gets very frustrating. I played enough to get an hour for each dollar I spent on it and I don't feel inclined to continue. I'll check back later if there is another major update and see if any of the games issues have been resolved. Until that time, I do not recommend buying this one.

Excellent game. I played it with a friend and it was a wonderful experience. The system for building your own mobile base is extremely impressive, and fun to tinker with.

Great game, need more of this

This game is good in terms of trying something different that other titles did not do. However, it does need some help to become great! It lacks a lot in terms of AI and worlds.
