Theatre of War 2: Kursk 1943

I spent more time watching soldiers do nothing than actually commanding anything. I think I accidentally booted up a strategy museum exhibit. I’ve seen more tactical coordination in a kindergarten dodgeball match.

This game came out a long time ago. It is poorly optimized so I was not able to play it on full graphics at the time until I had a very high spec PC. Unfortunately, now that I do have a good machine, it does not play on modern systems and constantly crashes. Do not buy unless you have an older Windows System.

A good game with really good and clear effort but has it's problems

Another good if shorter sequel to the original. Notably leans *much* heavier into Permadeath, the campaigns now have limited extra units given out compared to past games, you're instead given a massive initial force that you need to keep going. For instance, the Soviets start with pretty much only lend-lease US tanks but gradually get more Soviet tanks as the game goes on. (Though some of the US tanks like the M3 Lee are good enough you'll consider deploying them even later on despite not being able to get any more of them.)
