About Mayhem in Single Valley

Sometimes you have a bad day, and sometimes you wake up and accidentally start the apocalypse. Meet Jack, a mischievous kid with a twisted family, his trusty slingshot, and endless bad luck. In this action-adventure, it’s up to you to stop the monstrous swarms at the end of the world, and make it back to the dinner table in time.

Save the world, and keep the town together - It ain’t simple being the sole hero of a quiet town. As Single Valley begins to crumble, you’ll uncover the town’s hidden secrets along the way. What’s scarier - hidden family history, the strange truth of your neighbors, or an adventure game breaking down its fourth wall right on its Steam page?

Apocalyptic monsters have feelings too - The creatures you’ll encounter in Single Valley all have their own likes/dislikes to learn - if you take a moment to watch them scurry around and destroy things... You don’t always have to kill, you can play their behaviour against them and get inventive!

Hey, at least the end of the world creates some fun puzzles to solve! - The reality of Single Valley is breaking apart! To save us all, you’ll need to raft over poisonous rivers, take class at the Elementary School of Ghosts, clone yourself, and even navigate the perilous trials of earning your father’s approval.

There's only one thing I consistently dislike about this game. In sections where you need to jump to other platforms its easy to miss them. In the truck scene I presume is near the end of the game, its hard to hit the boss. I lack the vocabulary to explain what's causing these issues. I could say its because its a 2D game though its really a mix of the two. Though since there isn't a huge penalty for dying that makes this game enjoyable however dying to the same thing is not. Some sort of visual assistance setting would be helpful. Music is good, I recommend that you buy the soundtrack. The clones are adorable and I like the sound they make when rescued. My other recommendation is to please be curious of what you may be able to do. It wasn't obvious to me that the gold statues were something beneficial to shoot, until lately I was curious to try. TLTR: Game design makes parkour & shooting projectiles at boss, visually difficult Note: In the time of writing this, I didn't beat the truck boss, it mad me calm quit the game.

Mayhem in Single Valley is a distinctive indie adventure developed by Fluxscopic Ltd. and published by tinyBuild. Blending action, puzzles, exploration, and narrative-driven gameplay, it presents a strange yet captivating journey through a small town thrown into chaos by an environmental disaster. What begins as a seemingly ordinary day for a rebellious teenager quickly escalates into a chain of events involving toxic contamination, mutated wildlife, government secrets, and a looming catastrophe. The game embraces absurdity from the start, but beneath its eccentric premise lies a surprisingly sincere story about family bonds, personal responsibility, and the difficult transition from adolescence to adulthood. The setting is one of the game's strongest qualities. Single Valley is far more than a simple backdrop; it feels like a believable community filled with colorful personalities, hidden stories, and interconnected locations. As players guide Jack through neighborhoods, forests, schools, industrial facilities, and other areas, they gradually uncover both the town’s mysteries and the consequences of the disaster spreading across the region. Exploration is constantly rewarded thro…

7 out 10 good little game

So let me preface this with, this is a pretty solid, dare i say even great game to play. Just don't try to 100% it. Follow the guide for collectibles if you wish, as there's just clones and collectibles. Clones there's more than the amount needed so if you miss one or two in the guide you're fine. Collectibles on the other hand, not so much. So for starters there's no map in the game unfortunately. Probably wouldn't help overall but wow is making sure you don't miss any collectibles kind of tough. As in it took me ~6 hours to play through blind and another probably 5.5hrs on the second playthrough for cleanup, missing the collectible in the basement and my furthest back save being too far after that point. Whomp Whomp I guess. I still highly recommend. Just know if you miss even one collectible that you're due for a whole extra run where you don't miss *any* of the 64 of them. Everything else is more than doable in two runs and that's really my biggest complaint with the whole game. I'm not sure if there's some sort of fix or something to making that above issue any easier or anything, but man that's definitely a tough pill to swallow though to finish this game 100%.
