Run Tekila Run!

This game is a hidden indie gem, beautiful visuals, interesting combat mechanics and a lighthearted story, its got a great mix of charm and action and i really recommend checking this game out :)

Tonguc Bodur's "Run Tekila Run!" asks a profound question: what happens when your sheep-counting meditation goes awry and one woolly rebel decides to stage a zombie apocalypse? The answer, it turns out, is a delightfully chaotic top-down action-adventure that's as addictive as it is absurd. You step into the dream-shoes of a druid-like figure, summoned by the sleep-deprived Dua, who's lost her favorite counting sheep, Tekila. Forget peaceful slumber; you're now wading through hordes of shambling, groaning zombies in a quest to rescue a runaway ovine. The game's "Diablo-esque" graphics are surprisingly gorgeous, painting a dark and atmospheric world that's both beautiful and unsettling. But don't let the visual polish fool you; this game is pure, unadulterated silliness. The simple, catchy music loop will burrow into your brain like a zombie craving fresh… well, you get the idea. And then there's the narrator. Oh, the narrator. This disembodied voice delivers deadpan commentary and absurd observations with the comedic timing of a seasoned stand-up. Every zombie horde, every frantic dash, is accompanied by a witty quip that somehow manages to be both hilarious and strangely insigh…

It's a game, and we played it. Lots of potential, but spent most of the time lost backtracking. Wasn't enough action overall. I had fun with my wife playing it though. Great graphics, nice game design. Gud.

GAME IS BETTER WITH A CONTROLLER, BUT PLAYABLE WITHOUT. Run Tekila Run is a sh*tpost and a meta experience for those who have played Tonguc's other games, although some of the meta humor is more generalized. The game does not take itself seriously and you shouldn't either. I rather enjoyed the absurdity of everything, although I can understand what others have said about the gameplay loop getting old quick. I have to appreciate all the subtle nods and the music choices (man, I enjoyed the hard rock sections). I'm not sure everyone will enjoy this game, but you have to go in understanding it is nothing like Tonguc's other games, and that's okay. I enjoyed the strong deviation and the effort that went into this game, even if many players will not see it. Definitely recommend trying to get this one on sale, but it was a decent way to kill a couple hours.

This is a fun and sometimes absurd game that doesn't take itself seriously one bit. Nice and varying environments. The game-play doesn't vary much, but I didn't get bored, as it escalates so new tactics need to be used over time. Some light puzzles. Played from a top-down perspective, that gives a good overview of the monster situation.

The game is quite fun to play. There are a few points to be improved, like better controls for keyboard, a better orientation for the map and also the game pace where sometimes we get lost tracking all the zombies to pass to the next part of the map.
