About Rebots

✦ AI summary

Rebots has you managing quirky aliens and their terraforming needs across procedurally generated asteroids, building complex automation lines with linked robots to gather resources and transform barren rocks into thriving settlements. Juggle increasingly demanding clients, expand your operations across diverse biomes, and take on contracts while discovering unique flora and fauna in a charming space colonization simulator.

Rebots is where complex automation systems meet wacky!

As a new employee at Rebots Corporation, you’re sent to the remote Asteroid Field to help quirky aliens settle on their rocky little land of choice. They’ve got sass and character, but most importantly, they’ve got a LOT of needs for you to fulfill!

With a bunch of tools, robots, and gizmos, you’ll be able to terraform those dull rocks into flourishing lands. Travel through diverse biomes, gather resources, set up production lines, and get that money rolling into the bank account!

Create complex production lines and automate tasks to optimize efficiency and maximize output. And also because it’s fun.

Link the rebots to each other to build intricate webs of automation, so they can gather and deposit resources. Get access to different classes of rebots, from the grunt worker to the watchful overseer.

With a wide array of tools under your belt, change inhabitable planetoids into homes, sweet, homes for (mostly) thankful clients.

Meet your increasingly picky clients’ needs while strategically expanding your operations across diverse landscapes and biomes.

No space rock is alike thanks to the procedural generation of asteroids. The Asteroid Field is a playground waiting to be discovered!

Need a break from the daily grind? Make your own cruel-free safari and go on a journey to categorize a wide variety of unique flora and fauna, and get rewarded with collectible memorabilia.

Befriending aliens and meeting cute critters is nice and all, but that Spaceport won’t upgrade itself. Take on new contracts and quests, and grab those rewards!

Reboots is an automation game that initially charmed me with the demo in ways that I expected the game to expand upon in the full game. However getting into the game proper (which unfortunately took longer than two hours) it's become apparent to me that the developers did not understand the limits of the tools the player has been given. There is basically a point where I feel like I've gotten to a chicken and egg like scenario, where I need large amounts of resources to build the infrastructure required to be automating large amounts of resources. This situation is mainly the fault of the fact that the developers have decided that you can only filter what robots do after they have already picked up a resource and committed to taking it somewhere and leaving the player with very few options to deal with an excess or imbalance of items. Your only means of storage early to mid game is a trailer that's meant for taking only 6 types of items between asteroids, or dumping the items somewhere else on the asteroid in a very space-inefficient pile. Right now it's frankly a nothing but frustrating experience trying to separate out the items you actually want on an as…

This game has charm and potential. other than that i feel it fell flat on its face. the automation is tedious and far to simplistic. actual automating things is basically pointless because all the things that could be automated take about 5 minutes to do by hand, you usually would spend more time setting up the system then you would by just going around picking things up manually and depositing them. also the game randomly crashed on me one time, and ive heard others complain about that too. however it wasn't a major problem for me. the only task that i ended up automating cause it would've taken awhile by hand was to chop down trees, however it wasn't a task that i had to do repeatedly, i just had to cut down trees until a certain number were left, then the automation became pointless. frankly i think the game really needs a system where you can sell the products consistently, thus incentivising you to set up a production line. however, in my play through i found nothing of the sort (i got about 1 hour and 30 minutes i) every thing that could be automated would be done in half the time it would take to set up. and there was no real reason to reuse factories because half the ti…

Rebots is a refreshing blend of exploration, automation, and resource management that approaches the factory-building genre with a sense of humor and accessibility rarely seen in similar games. Developed by FlatPonies and published by Astra Logical, the game transports players into a colorful universe where they are tasked with helping a large interstellar corporation expand its influence across planets and asteroids. Rather than presenting a harsh industrial world filled with endless spreadsheets and intimidating mechanics, Rebots creates a cheerful and welcoming environment where automation becomes an enjoyable adventure instead of a demanding challenge. The game's premise revolves around gathering resources, improving planetary environments, and deploying robotic workers known as rebots. At the beginning, players perform many tasks manually, collecting materials and exploring unfamiliar worlds. As progress is made, the rebots gradually take over these responsibilities, allowing players to create automated systems that harvest resources, transport supplies, and support larger operations. Watching a simple workforce evolve into an efficient network of robotic helpers provides a s…

I had a very interesting journey with this game I love robots and I love automation games so this was a no-brainer for me. The first few hours of the game I considered putting it down because it wasn't clicking for me but then after that it did click for me and suddenly I was quite enjoying myself without realizing it I had sunk in another 12 hours or so. I was really enjoying completing the missions and building up the spaceport however towards the end chunk of the game I started to drift back into not enjoying it so much. Once it wanted me to start collecting things for the factories like making semiconductors and what not by breaking down pieces of glass that I find on the ground I started to find it tedious because I couldn't farm them or have the robots collect them for me in a way that I could understand. It then turned into me looking all over the place trying to find very specific things to make weirdly complex recipes. So I'd say around the 18-hour mark the game started falling off when a initially I was planning on 100%ting it. I bought it on sale and got nearly 20 hours out of it and I enjoyed 16 of them so I would say the game is worth it and maybe I'm just m…

This game has some charm, but the core loop boils down to very simple programming and shuffling resources around with almost no inventory space. The controls feel clunky and unintuitive, and basic quality of life features are missing. The limited storage turns every task into a frustrating puzzle, not because it’s challenging, but because the game refuses to give you basic tools. Instead of feeling fun or clever, it often feels like doing chores with awkward equipment.

a little clunky around the edges but a good introduction to automation games because it doesnt have overly complicated yes/no functions and all that stuff.
