Memory Lost presents itself as a jumbled yet captivating cyberpunk shooter that delivers with its chaotic gameplay experience. The game's main mechanic allows the player to switch bodies during combat thus creating both speed and strategy in the gameplay. This is incredibly satisfying even though it sometimes becomes messy due to glitches. Visually, it’s inconsistent. Some areas have a great moody aesthetic, while others feel half-finished. The story is hard to follow and the cutscenes come off like placeholder dev logs. Still, the atmosphere holds up thanks to strong vibes and a pounding synth-heavy soundtrack. Tons of fun and worth the ride!

The game nails that hyper-fast combat with satisfying mechanics and a gritty atmosphere. Switching between hosts mid-fight keeps things unpredictable, making every battle feel different. The synth-heavy soundtrack amplifies the chaos, just like in RUINER.

From the first fight, Memory Lost delivers high-octane cyberpunk action with a mix of tactical body-switching. It’s got everything—intense combat, deep lore, and a killer soundtrack that keeps your adrenaline pumping. This is one of the best cyberpunk shooters I’ve played in a while.

Memory Lost is a stylish, tense, and often frantic cyberpunk action game that reshapes the traditional top-down shooter by anchoring its entire identity in the concept of body-swapping. Developed by Magic Hazard and published by ESDigital Games, it places you in the role of a drifting consciousness weaponized by circumstance—an individual whose own physical form has been stripped away, leaving only the ability to seize control of weakened enemies. The result is an experience defined by rapid improvisation, shifting playstyles, and a constant sense of instability, where survival depends not on preserving a single life but on navigating an endless cycle of borrowed bodies. It’s an inventive idea wrapped in a grim neon dystopia, pulling together action, atmosphere, and existential tension into a distinctive package. Combat is the beating heart of Memory Lost, and the possession mechanic transforms every encounter into a fluid puzzle of opportunity and risk. You enter a fight inhabiting one body, but that form is temporary—fragile, disposable, and ultimately interchangeable. As enemies fall, their damaged forms become potential hosts, allowing you to leap across the battlefield by tak…

When I play this game the video graphics are unstable, to the point where I can't see the enemy or myself. When I played the DEMO it had this issue but I figured the bug would've been removed. It hasn't been and I doubt it ever will be. It's a terrible experience! STEAM needs to start vetting the games they're selling by setting a standard for gaming developers.

Memory lost is a top down view beat-em-up that is ultimately a fairly enjoyable experience. albeit one that lacks a lot of polish and is frustrating at times. Steam Curator Page: store.steampowered.com/curator/36307721-Healthy-Criticism/ Memory Lost is not the prettiest game on the block. It is not the most polished game either. Nor does it have an immaculate level of dialogue or story to tell. The gameplay is fairly smooth with some performance hitches here and there, but overall not too buggy. The audio design is fair, but the music is quite enjoyable. The key gameplay mechanic is that you can transfer into most enemies after you defeat them, including larger enemies that do good AOE damage. The more you transfer back to back, the more health you regenerate. There are a decent amount of enemy types but not many. The checkpoint system saves your progress often enough. Overall, if you find it on a sale and you like the genre, I can recommend the game. Otherwise, not so much. https://youtu.be/h85LEdiDPhY
