Romanticized Dreams of a Post-Apocalyptic Cowpoke is a action roguelike shooter. Fight your way through five bandit fortresses, collect weapons and treasure to increase your power, and take on the bandit leaders! With randomly generated: levels, enemies, and loot. Every playthrough will provide it's own unique challenges and opportunities. No two post-apocalyptic adventures will be the same. The journey will be a dangerous one but don't worry, defeat is simply a bad dream.
The Story
Many years after the big one, the event that ended the world. Society rebuilt the best they could, and as such welcome to the new old-west. Take on the role of a lone cowpoke arriving at a small town in the post-apocalyptic frontier. Unfortunately for you and the local citizens, a group of despicable bandits control the surrounding area. The Mayor seeks your help in dealing with these villains, so with nothing but your trusty old revolver and wits you set out to be a cowpoke of legends in this lawless land.Devious Bandits and their Bosses
Local ruffians, led by the nefarious Baron Von Bandit, have taken over the countryside murdering and robbing anyone they come across. Assault the bandit strongholds, collecting new weapons and upgrades in order to help defeat each of the bandit captains. While your trusty old revolver may get the job done there is always plenty of opportunity to upgrade your arsenal. Use the ill gotten gains of the bandits against them, pillaging their vaults and armories to increase your odds. Not only will scavenging help but you will also find opportunities to better your gear through trading your bloody bandit bucks for items from vendors who care only about money.The Cowpoke

Reminds me of my childhood and finding that a gem of a high-effort flash game that wouldn't let you stop playing :') I don't play this style of game much so I'm not sure if this is meant to be part of the experience, but as a casual enjoyer I'd appreciate an option to have the target be fixed with the cursor rather than moving along with the character. Surprisingly challenging game reminiscent of Binding of Isaac in terms of gameplay and difficulty. The artwork is aesthetically pleasing, and the soundtrack doesn't get old, even [strike] when [/strike] if you have to play a level over and over again. There's no meta progression, but you can find currency inside the dungeons that lets you purchase new items to add to your pool as well as cosmetics. I haven't made it past the first boss as of yet, but I don't see myself stopping trying any time soon.3 found this helpful
Awesome roguelike with tons of charm, and surprisingly intense gameplay. The weapon variety is honestly pretty impressive, and after each run you can unlock more stuff at the shop, which keeps the runs feeling fresh. The fact that there's already alternate bosses (including secret bosses) is pretty awesome and adds to the replayability. Protip: you can fast-travel from the map, which makes strategically picking up any leftover health/armor/ammo before boss fights a lot easier.3 found this helpful
