shortest campaign ever, had good opportunitys for updates or adding a co-op mode, they shouldve added maybe legendary ships (like from ac4) or side quests to find them (for money and xp and most ai ships use chain shot all the time instead of round shot.. and to further add. vr is absolulety terrible if you wana play somthing like this just mod ac4 or wait for the resynced remake of ac4

I love the game but it needs the developers attention, they need to update it and add more ship upgrades and more player upgrades. Also the story should progress to where you become an admiral yourself and you can upgrade ports that are apart of your faction. Also you should be able to get more than 4 ships and get more like 8 ships or more. Also there should be a loot system where loot spawns in the ocean or in ports. Also should be able to set up trade routes with the ships you have so you can earn some sort of passive income. Also mods shouldn't just be a visual thing, it should be ship models, ports, maps, etc. This game is fun but it's pretty bare bones for a open world ship game.

Game is a lot of fun! Kinda like Sid Meyer's Pirates or similar pirate games. You play the captain of a ship. Play a few short prologue missions, choose a faction, and then have an open map of the caribeen to do whatever you want. There is a few story missions where the goal is to take revenge on someone who screwed you over. Its fun and eventually it can help you unlock armor piercing cannons. As you are raiding, taking on quests, completing bounties, etc you eventually start to unlock skill points. These skill points improve and unlock new abilities: having up to 4 ships in your fleet, being able to bribe shop owners and other NPCs, being able to equipt more weapons when you capture ships, being able to capture ships and put them into your fleet, being able to conquer forts for your faction (brits, french, spanish, and pirates). The game is overall fun. I like how the capture ship mechanic lets you fight hand to hand on other ships. I like how you can partner with another AI ship to take over an enemy ship faster together, I like that I can conquer so many advanced ships that I can have a whole fleet of 4 tripple decker ships. might be the most fun pirate game ive ever played. yes the art style is a little over used but i like it and the game mechanics are amazing i wish every pirate game was like this. only complaint is lack of endgame content and maybe more ship options. also the ships while highly accurate and detailed could use a teensy bit more detail like irl those ships have way more rigging lines all over and id love to walk around the deck and underbelly of the ship while at sea but overall 9/10 its sooo fun. 28 years and this game has to be the best.
