DragonClash

This is a great implementation of the physical card game. I had never played the game before this version, but after losing several fights and winning one, I can say that this will scratch that itch you might have to play a deep "RPG lite" style card game of one on one tactical combat. It will be even better for you if you like the theme of dragons, but anyone who likes fantasy themed card games should at least check out the demo to see if they can get into it. The rules of the game were fairly easy to learn for me, but I have some experience with these kind of games. But at least for me, the combination of the tutorial tips, in game manual, and a few playthroughs making all kinds of mistakes was enough to teach me the game. Then I was able to put it all together in my third game and beat my opponent, although that was not without using all my cards to my advantage and a little luck. And that is something I really like about this game. Even once you understand it and can make good use of all your cards, there is still a chance you can lose. You keep spending resources to attack whether you hit or miss with that attack, but you can increase your chances by using attacks your drago…

I dont know... this game has to many complications i feel like. I thought after reading the rules at multiple points in the game i thought i could do certain actions, which i then wasnt allowed for some reason, that i couldnt undertand. The UI doenst help you much,it is too clunky and a bit bareboness at revealing the information that you need to know. What is annoying, is that most of your attacks rely on RNG to hit, since you and the opp. just excavate the top card of their deck and if your number is not higher than your opp. card, your attack doenst go through, So yeah... the game is to slow and gets frustarting, although i really like the design.

This seems to me like a digital version of a typical tabletop game (which it apparently is!) It's ok, but probably better suited to play between close friends than an AI. Decks are preset and games can last for about 20+ min, where you play against one of 5 decks with a boss encounter after every 3 wins. So... it is somewhat barebones by digitized card-game standards today: a few preset music tracks, standard backgrounds, no customizability and there taking a few extra clicks than perhaps necessary to get through phases. (It feels like a failsafe against making errors at times though, many a time have I stumbled in other digitized card games.) Janky story-introduction with 1-2 "english-not-first-language moments" and the extremely fast cuts to victory/defeat screens gives off an old 90's NES video game vibe. A little offputting at times, though I've also found it charming, I guess? The art is very nice. A few pieces reminds me of old school Magic the Gathering art (which is a pluss in my book.) Bought because I like dragons and the concept of dragon duels. Unfortunately the game is poorly designed. Chance, more than anything else, determines success. That's to be expected in a card game but this game essentially puts dice rolling on top of cards to determine attack results, and as a result luck completely rules the day. At first it seems like its a game that balances upgrading your dragon from hatchling to elder wyrm with combat, and you have to choose which strategy to pursue. But eventually you discover that the stat improvements between upgraded dragon forms are so meager that you barely feel an improvemet from a stats perspective. To capitalize on improvements you need the right attack cards, and even then you have a dice mechanic and for all that trouble, when you finally land an attack unless it's a very powerful one the impact is very meager, since attacking costs health. As a result, the best strategy is usually to not attack at all. You see the problem? A fighting game, where fighting is usually a bad idea.
