Darkblade Ascent

Game feels cheap, enemies feel clunky, slow and too many look the same. Fist impressions are too bad, I gave it a run and just was not what i had hoped.. Feels like a 15 year old game in more ways than one. If it was early access I may of sat on it to see if it cooked.

[h1] it is a good game with decent combat [/h1] but i have an issue with roguelike games where it gets extremely boring after a few runs where you have seen all you can currently do/have and the repetitive grind for unlocking new stuff is just not worth it when it's just a new item with one new gimmick you haven't seen before It's only fun if you [b] REALLY [/b] Dig rougelikes and first person melee combat otherwise don't bother buying since it will just sit in your library

This game is very fun to play and I will be playing much more of it, a fun and engaging arena slasher that with a little refinement could be the start of something amazing! Remember 2 guys passionate about what they love are responsible for Apple.

This game is surprisingly good for a game developed by only 2 brothers. This is a cheaper alternative to "Mortal Sin" and while it is a shorter game, it retains a similar rogue-lite loop. PROS + Weapon Variety with Axes, Daggers, Swords and Lances alongside Spell Casting. Each have their own unique ability. + Medium Sized Trait Pool to choose from to create your own build. (RNG based) + Bosses can be challenging with multiple move sets forcing you to adapt. + Gear and Level Progression is balanced, rising the longer you play. + Graphics are surprisingly good for an Indie developer. + Asking price is actually fair for a game of this length. CONS - The Spells don't feel like they make any impact on gameplay. You press Q and the most mediocre animation happens while the monster you hit just laughs at your pitiful spell damage. Feels like this game would have been just fine with no spells even included. - While the bosses have a variety of moves, the mobs do not. The melee mobs bum rush you while the ranged mobs stand and shoot. - The game is pretty short. If you manage to get all the best choices, you can beat the game in a little over an hour. Haven't played much yet but its exactly what a dungeon crawler should be in every aspect. Loot, gold, leveling. The Hideout is really cool, but I can see where it may get a little repetitive, but overall a great experience.
