When the fate of your people rests in the balance, will you follow your destiny or your heart?

Akash: Path of the Five is a groundbreaking, fully voiced visual novel in the otome style.
Players will become Aurora, a member of a magical race of elementals. As the first elemental girl the village has seen in over 200 years, all eyes are on her fast-approaching coming of age ceremony. All is not as it seems, however, as tensions between Akash and a nearby human settlement threaten to erupt into an all-out war. Cultivate a romance with one of her five classmates, navigate the coming conflict, and plan the greatest coming of age ceremony Akash has seen in over two centuries.

Featuring:
 • 8,000+ lines of dialogue fully voiced by a veteran cast including Morgan Berry, SungWon Cho, Ray Chase, Andrew Love, Chris Patton, Brandon McInnis, Jason Wishnov and more.

 • Cultivate a romance with on of 5 potential love interests, with a possible 6th bonus love interest.

There's clearly a lot of thought and love put into Akash: Path of the five, but this unfortunately wasn't for me. While the art was nice and loved that it was fully voiced, it really falls flat at the writing and world building. A lot of the dialog is cringy and every character is very one dimensional. The pacing is way too fast and there's no build up for character growth. No character moves past their stereotypes and you literally know nothing about the character you romance at end beside a lot of superficial things. There's a lot of lost potential here and the game does have its moments and charm. But the writing can't carry the narrative of a woman being the only female of a village of males, the war between human and elementals, the game would had benefited to just focus on a lighter narrative and fewer romances with more depth.

This is the best otome, visual novel I have played hands down, everything is immersive and fun! The art scenery and voice acting is one point just overall fun roller coaster so far! I love love love it!

Akash: Path of the Five burrowed so deep into my soul that I, a chaotic gremlin with the attention span of a goldfish, have been emotionally haunted by its gorgeous writing and complex characters for a literal year. The story is a masterpiece of detailed fantasy and the most awkwardly relatable supernatural coming-of-age ever. I am unwell over the emotional depth of these beautifully voice-acted boys; their paths genuinely feel like top-tier romance novels where your choices actually matter. I've had this game for a minute, but I just bought and devoured the developer's new release solely because of how stellar and amazing this experience was with Akash. My trust in Truant Pixel is now absolute. Do yourself a favor and lose 30 hours of your life to its collectible CGs. It's the kind of game that makes you want to immediately replay it just to hurt your own feelings again, but with a different magical boyfriend. I love each and every one of them so much and Truant Pixel is an artist for getting these men to us. <3

Pick it up for an interesting worldbuilding concept, and to date super boyfriends while being super yourself. Lovely voice acting. Very escapist. HOWEVER: ~the routes, save one, are extremely repetitive (as others have said) ~a few of the LI insufferable (and unfortunately one-note, that's kinda just who they are) ~the plot is skin deep and had me cringing at points with its convenience, obvious devices and underdevelopment (without being campy or self aware.) ~there are a few annoying mini games that aren't skippable and it gets real old on your already repetitive fourth playthrough. Same with the ending shopping montage/scenes ~backgrounds are aggressively meh ~the advance and skip functions are irritating and inefficient ~misogyny baked into world building at points--biological patriarchy imperatives There are lots of other otome style visual novels that just do it better. But go for it at the price point or on sale if the demo intrigues you enough. I'd much rather play anything from Steamberry Studio to scratch the escapist, unique speculative fiction world Western-coded Otome itch. Changeling, When Stars Collide, Gilded Shadows. Writing and characters (love interests, side …

Akash: Path of the Five is a fully-voiced fantasy visual novel about Aurora (default name), the first elemental female born in 200 years and her school life as she grows closer to one of her classmates and approaches her coming of age ceremony, where she will transition into one element of the five she is attuned with. The game really only has one "route"/storyline, which is the same for each character but with sprites changed and lines adjusted for their personalities. I didn't make an initial ranking, but post-game my ranking is as follows:
Sirocco > Ignatius > Lux > Rowan > Daniel > Caspian
The game features 5 routes and one mini-route with 4 CGs. You do have the otome standard live interests and I do think they were all of varying quality... The first route took me about 2.5 - 3 hours listening to the voice acting but after that the entire game took me about 9 hours. You can view all CGs in a gallery, chapter select to get new cgs/outfits and do other choices, and also view epilogues for each character in the extras menu. The epilogues are short stories with a few cartoon-style CGs which cannot be accessed in the gallery. Rocco's made me cry. The game spr…
