About Starstruck: Hands of Time

✦ AI summary

Starstruck: Hands of Time is an interactive rock opera where you play guitar through musical story segments while also controlling a giant destructive hand to solve puzzles in a charming miniature world. The game blends rhythm gameplay, action-puzzle destruction, and character-driven narrative across three intertwined adventures, with full controller support and an accessibility-friendly Autoplay mode for those who want to experience the story without the rhythm challenge.

Play guitar in an interactive rock opera

Play guitar in musical story segments, with a catchy soundtrack featuring live instruments and singing by Elsie Lovelock. If you still have your Guitar Hero or Rock Band guitar controller, dust it off, because this game supports it!

Destroy the world as a giant human hand

Demolish houses, solve puzzles, and open new paths for other characters as a giant hand. Unleash your destructive potential using hammers, screwdrivers, and more.

A strange game set in a miniature world

Save the future by exploring the strange diorama world of 20XX. Meet weirdly cute characters and unravel the mystery of how their little lives are connected to the end of mankind.

No rhythm? No problem

If you want to experience the music and story without the stresses of rhythm gameplay, you can enable "Autoplay" in the options menu. When Autoplay is enabled, the rhythm gameplay sections will play themselves.

Features

  • Explore three intertwined adventures set in a charming diorama world, switching characters to solve puzzles and change the future.
  • Play guitar and dodge attacks to an original soundtrack in catchy musical story segments.
  • Destroy the world as a giant human hand in hectic action-puzzle gameplay. (By the way, you can also customize the hand’s size and skin color.)
  • Extensive controller support allows you to play with your keyboard, Xbox controller, PS4 controller, Switch Pro Controller, or even guitar controller! You can also remap controls as you wish for the rhythm gameplay.
  • Adjust the difficulty level between "Normal" and "Master" mode for the rhythm gameplay to suit your style, or just sit back and watch with "Autoplay" mode.
  • Original soundtrack by acclaimed composer Andrew Allanson features live instruments and vocals spanning many genres.

"When the world has sunk into such an artificial life, it is reserved for Art to restore it. To descend into Hell, liberate that which has been cut off, and crown it as the new cornerstone."

Absolutely incredible game, bizzare funny sweet and esoteric. If you're a fan of the Earthbound vibe (or YIIK for that matter) and also prefer rhythm games to RPG's I highly recommend this game. Really intruiging, really cool mixed media visual style. Absolute gem. One of my favourites of all time

very late to review it in text but this game may serve as a great role model so to speak, primarily for whoever feels like exploring a theme from multiple angles still making a point of their own. in Starstruck's case art is explored, the reasoning for its creation, be it for one's spotlight or simple self-expression untainted thereby, originality's role in that as well and its influence on where inspiration crosses into ripping off for the sake of presumed greater heights. beautiful symbolism and metaphors to remember, it's probably one of the most hidden gems out there right now! and if you happen to suck at rhythm games like me, just roll with autoplay mode

I have ultimately mixed feelings overall, but I think this game is worth experiencing!!! Its got a lot of heart and I really adore the rhythm and music centric stuff. The way it sort of evolves lands a bit weird, but I really do enjoy the final portion of the game. I enjoy the quirks of the characters and I really love the music in the game. There are so many memorable setpieces and its really endearing. Absolutely worth your time
