Time Drifter

Time Drifter is a 2D retro top down... well, despite not looking like it, this is a retro SpaceWar!/Asteroids type game where you can't stop the forward momentum of your space ship (in this case some kind of car, but it's just a skin) and you must run into your enemies in various arenas. There's a lengthy yet superfluous plot about being sent back in time to drive your car over Roman gladiators. It's very short and feels a bit like it's abandoned Early Access that was dumped on Steam anyway. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but I wasn't able to find it on the app stores. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Pure nostalgia for me, one of the first games I ever played on Steam. Genuinely inspirational.

Игра "Time Drifter" — захватывающее путешествие через временные измерения с уникальной механикой перемещения. Сюжет заставляет задуматься о последствиях выбора, а графика радует минималистичным стилем. Геймплей динамичный, но местами запутанный. Звуковое сопровождение усиливает атмосферу. Рекомендую тем, кто любит интеллектуальные головоломки и глубокую историю.
