Monster Line of Defense is a defense game with adult content. I can't believe I've fallen for the 94% positive reviews and the premise of a 'defense' game, which is a rather niche genre that I love. To start things off the game starts in Chinese and you have to navigate through menu written in Chinese with absolutely no picture or English words to luckily switch the language to English. When that's done, you can begin playing one of the 8 levels there are to play, which are all the same thing except for a few added monster types (which again, all does the same thing) and the monsters taking longer to kill. The game doesn’t attempt to be grand or complex; instead, it distills the shooter experience into its most essential elements—movement, aim, and survival. For players seeking instant gratification and bite-sized bursts of challenge, Monster Line of Defense serves its purpose well, though it’s also a game that wears its simplicity on its sleeve, with both the strengths and limitations that come with that design philosophy. The gameplay loop is deceptively simple. You control a turret that slides horizontally along the screen while monsters charge toward you in waves. Using basic controls, you reposition your cannon to intercept enemies and fire continuously to hold the line. The monsters vary slightly in speed and durability, forcing you to manage your targeting priorities as the …
