About Reptilian Rising

History's greatest heroes. Humanity’s weirdest crisis. The timeline is under siege. The Reptilian menace has broken through the barriers of time, bringing with them dino-cyborgs, laser raptors, and the dreaded Dictatorsaur. It’s up to a dream team of history’s most legendary figures to stop them.Reptilian Rising is a turn-based strategy RPG inspired by ‘80s tabletop classics. Command a squad of retro-styled miniatures across battlefields that span the dawn of man to the distant future. Build your team, upgrade your powers, and bend time itself to turn the tide.

Squad Tactics, Retro Style

Fight back in fast-paced, reactive turn-based combat. Every attack provokes enemy response - so plan your moves wisely, chain powerful synergies, and use terrain to your advantage. With randomized battle setups and escalating challenges, no two runs are the same.

Villains, But Make Them Weird

This isn't your average lizard invasion. Face down malevolent Manborgs, lethal Lazer Raptors, and the tri-headed Tri-Cannon. Then prepare to battle the ultimate foe: Dictatorsaur.Good luck. You’re going to need it.

Big Bads vs Big Brains

With three of humanity’s worst villains sharing one giant dinosaur body, you’ll need the best our species can muster to even the odds. Call up heroes from the dawn of history like Julius Caesar (et tu, Reptiles?), medieval masters of war, like Robin Hood (take from the rich, shoot arrows at dinosaurs) and great minds of super-science like Albert Einstein - all things are relative, but we’re kicking the reptiles out of this family gathering!

Time-Hopping Mayhem

There’s more to time travel than hopping in a DeLorean, phone booth, or retro police box. In Reptilian Rising you’ll use time energy on time-twisting abilities to throw the Reptilians for a loop. Create clones of your troops, call in reinforcements (we’ve got Scarface on speed-dial), or create time-gates to rush your heroes across the map double time.

Secrets in the Loop

If you can turn the tide without causing a temporal paradox, you can replay missions to tackle bonus objectives, hop between time periods to uncover secrets, and more.Reptilian Rising launches in 2026. Add to your wishlist and prepare to lock, load, and time travel. Open the door, get on the floor, everybody shoot the dinosaur!

Key Features

  • Turn-based squad tactics with a reactive combat twist
  • 20+ iconic recruitable heroes from history, myth, and beyond
  • Dozens of bizarre Reptilian enemies and 9 unique boss fights
  • Strategic upgrade system with artifacts, cloning, time gates and more
  • High replayability with mission branching and bonus goals
  • ‘80s tabletop aesthetic brought to digital life

Yo, this game is actually incredible. The fact that it only has 2 reviews is criminal! It's a phenomenal turn based strategy game where you're fighting dinosaurs with heroes from the past, like FDR, Cleopatra, Robin Hood, and Spartacus. What's not to love about that? haha There are different difficulty levels, and they do get super challenging. I covered this game on my channel if you wanna get a feel for the game before you buy: https://youtu.be/lJe-d9oZCDU?si=QVryd9TBENnKe2Xx Transparency: The dev gave me a key for this game for coverage, but I would have gladly paid for it, if it would have been on my radar.

I never realised that something was missing in my decades long gaming life : repelling a reptilian invasion with a team made of Cleopatra, Vercingetorix, Charles de Gaulle and Mad Max. This game is far from perfect. The UI can be infuriating, but it's a lot of fun and a one of a kind experience made with love.

Imagine, as an 80s child, discovering a board game based upon a discarded sketch from Monty Python's Flying Circus; a mishmash of conspiracy theories on occultism, reptilian invaders and time travel. It is an absurd, whimsical, gleeful grab bag of mechanics from fantasy dungeon crawlers and tabletop miniatures, teamed to a twee, cartoonish aesthetic redolent of rubbery He-Man toys populating that childhood 80s bedroom. You're now an adult and you know it's time to realise your vision: a nostalgic remix of your beloved board game into digital format. You playfully reimagine it on the floor of your bedroom, scattered amongst cassette recorders, collectible card packs and Styrofoam cups no doubt filled to the brim with Jolt Cola. You offer some canny twists, incorporating synthwave sound and graphics, some welcome mechanical updates from XCOM, and delightfully hammy voice-acting. This is that game, and you should revel in it. Nota Bene: Do be careful however with headphones - the audio mixing is slightly unbalanced, such that the teleportation sound, announcing a character's entrance into the mission start, may blow your eardrum clear out your anus.

Game deserves more attention, it's got a unique art style and is tongue-in-cheek, fun, and there's enough mechanics to keep the player thinking ahead without being crazy complex. It seems simple until you get to the boss rounds, where you have to pay more attention. There's a rogue-lite element as well, as you can only enter the shop between eras or after failing. You run through each era composed of 3 maps + 1 boss fight, level up your heroes, hit up the shop, and move to the next era. I think $30 may be a bit steep, but I'm having a good time with it.

So far pretty nifty, quite the lil undiscovered gem, that i'd played the demo on orriginally, and actually totally missed it's release. it's hardly got any sort of advertising for it, but, glad to see it's still managed to make it to a release.
