About Hayfever

Help Thomas the allergic mailman gather all his lost letters! In Hayfever, the player takes control of Thomas; a young postman with a strong sense of pride in his work. There is just one tiny little issue; Thomas suffers from terrible (and we mean TERRIBLE) allergies.

It is up to the player to use his allergies to help him traverse the dangerous world, turning Thomas’ weaknesses into strengths! Different allergens have different effects on Thomas - radically changing how he interacts with the world.

Regular pollen allows him to build up a big sneeze to propel himself through the air. Smog, on the other hand, makes him swell up like a balloon. Peanuts… Well, peanuts are a WHOLE other story.

Features

  • Demanding, Sneeze-driven Mechanics
  • Four worlds, spanning each of the year’s seasons (there might be a secret world as well… Just saying)
  • 140 Challenging Levels, 240 Collectibles
  • Allergy-Fueled Gameplay ranging from Pollen & Smog to Nuts!
  • An AMAZING Soundtrack

Hayfever pros: //fast game with modern day graphics with easy controls that moves from location A to B to C and so on cons: //a lot of difficult platforming //platforming is at master level difficulty //too many hazards //sometime controls become unresponsive or button presses don't register //good game Personal Suggested Purchase Price: Free To Play extra notes: //you are mailman tom who lost their mail and must platform you way through difficult 2D-side-scrolling levels //use your sneezing power and allergy powerups to boost you through the levels //once you get stuck on an obstacle your game is over

For the price of free it is hard to fault this game but it's not perfect and it's a shame too because I wouldn't give this game a negative review because I had fun but the game has some annoyances in various bugs that look like they'll never be fixed. Mostly the game will sometimes just eat inputs and the game doesn't always reset properly to the original state when dying in a level. But otherwise it's a fun platformer that I'm surprised is free.

THIs is a great platformer my faavourite free game on steam at the moment
Not recommended Sep 8, 2026
I got my hands on this cheerful little game today and thought, “Alright, simple graphics, let’s give it a shot.” It starts off like one of those classic platformers I’ve been seeing for the last 30 years — nothing new, nothing shocking, but still kind of charming. The first level was actually nice: colorful, friendly, even a tiny tutorial to make me feel welcome. And then came level two. Suddenly there’s a wall right in front of me, and for the life of me I couldn’t figure out how to jump over it. No hint, no tutorial, no magical pop‑up saying “Hey old man, press this button.” I tried the arrow keys, I tried ASD, I tried everything short of calling tech support. Nothing. The wall won. My patience lost. So I closed the game. And yes — uninstall. Instantly. I honestly can’t recommend this to people like me who get annoyed quickly and don’t have time to experiment with hidden tricks. Why can’t games just be simple again, so even a 70‑year‑old grandpa can play them without needing a secret handshake? I CAN NOT RECOMMEND TO MY FRIEND NOR MY GRANDMA.
