Undead Menace is a GameMaker Studio asset flip from serial copy+paste infringers, khukhrovr. All these guys do is rip off game templates and projects from the Yoyogames/GameMaker Studio marketplace, change the name and a few cosmetic details, and try to scam people into paying for someone else's work on Steam. They have run asset flip scams dozens of times, and this is no exception (just look at their other games on Steam). It's nothing but a cash grab. This time they've ripped off a basic template for a 2D retro pixel action platformer, with asset flipped pixel "art" sprites. GameMaker Studio itself is a terrible game construction kit, and this asset flip shows just how bad things can get when templates/tutorials/demos from that construction kit get dumped on Steam as complete games. Asset flips and other "Fake games" (as Valve calls them) are harmful to the industry, because they pollute the marketplace and reduce the visibility and exposure needed by genuine indie developers. Awful controls, WASD used wrong! A and D to move left and right, barely tapping will lunge your character forward so fast. Characters movement speed is way too fast for a low-res designed game, it makes the movement too sensitive. The friction sliding after stopped movement is crazy. The sensitive movement in this game is guaranteed to make you die many times!

Pretty graphics and music, but meaningless platforming game play. You get points regardless of whether you die or not, so the only challenge is getting to the end. There are a couple tricky parts, but generally I just breezed through this and finished it in eight minutes. I didn't hate it, though.
