POWERTRIP

A 3D first person platformer about running, jumping, hiding, and more jumping. The game is fine enough until the Parkour section which is where the atrocious jumping rears its ugly head. Its here where the very floaty and slidey jumping makes itself known. Any time you land, you keep moving forward a little bit which makes landing on tiny platforms even more difficult than it should be. In a game where Shift magically speeds you up or slows you down instantly in mid-air, this sliding shouldn't be a thing. And then as quickly as the game begins, it's over. Good, nothing more to play. PS. Press E in an elevator to use it lest you fall down an infinite pit into the skybox. Not that I did that myself, nope. PPS. Maybe fix whatever caused my Unity log after 17 minutes to be 177 MB too.

POWERTRIP is a mostly asset flipped first person 3D platformer where you're kidnapped and must perform a few platforming obstacle courses so you can get set free. Ok. Most of the assets in the game seem to be stock assets that are used uncredited, although the game does feature some amusing voice acting as you get berated every time you screw up. That part was kinda funny. The rest of the game isn't anywhere close to what might be called enjoyable. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. The controls and game handling are notably very floaty and imprecise. It's janky and unsatisfying to play... and any experienced gamer will tell you, the handling, responsiveness and general gameplay feel of the control scheme must be…

The game is worth about $0.25. The controls weren't tight - If you pressed a key, it was delayed when you released it, so you would very easily fall off of platforms during the parkour section. The sneaking section was not a sneaking section, and also was RNG based, making it extremely difficult to make progress. Constructive criticism? Perhaps making a clicking timer so the player will know when it's about to turn back on, even if the amount of time between the lights turning on was randomized. The voice acting was flat, and more lines were really needed to keep my attention. Have fun with the VA! Don't just have the lines repeat every time you die. Subtitles would've also been nice for people with hearing problems. In your cutscene at the beginning, the music drowns out the narration. If the controls worked properly, I would've beat the game in about 10 or so minutes. It is incredibly short, and I would recommend coming up with different assets between levels. 2/10

The controls are terrible, which is a pretty big problem for a platform game, and the stealth part is just stupid.
