QuattroMan

This game is some genuine crap. I got up to the poolrooms corridor with the doors and literally ALL the time I would try to get past it, the enemies would kill be even if I backed away or didn't actually get anywhere near them. I tried sprinting, sprint jumping, walking, yet all the times I just kept dying, because for some reason their hitbox can reach me in the other side of the multiverse, being pretty much unable to even progress.

QuattroMan is a short horror adventure that I found much more unsettling than its simple premise initially suggested. I play as a boy who enters an alley and gradually realizes that something is very wrong with the place. I liked how quickly the game creates that feeling of uncertainty, because I never completely know what kind of threat is about to appear. The gameplay focuses on escaping monsters while moving through a series of different environments. I have to react quickly when creatures appear and figure out how to get through each situation safely. I liked that the enemies do not all behave in exactly the same way, because each encounter can force me to change how I approach the area. The fast pace works especially well during the more threatening sections. The game does not give me much time to relax once something starts chasing me, which keeps the experience moving forward. I also enjoyed the light puzzle and platforming elements because they give me something to concentrate on beyond simply running away. The atmosphere is probably the strongest part. The realistic three dimensional presentation makes the strange creatures feel more out of place, and the modern setting…

Usually I shouldn't complain because this game is free, but it is so utterly bad that I still have to. - I cannot access the menu in-game by pressing ESC. Pretty bad when you want to adjust your mouse sensitivity, for example. - The default mouse control is obviously inverted, and you cannot change it in the settings. - No keybinding options whatsoever. - But the worst part, as other players have mentioned as well, is the buggy corridor after the water level. The sign on the wall clearly tells you not to run, so I do not run. Well, apart from normal walking (=just not sprinting, which still produces footsteps), you cannot do much else. There is no slow-walk button and obviously no crouch button. I tried moving slowly, I tried going step by step, I tried sprinting fast. But no way. The door ALWAYS opens when I pass it, and I get killed. I mean, yes, it's a free game. If it's a free-time project by some bored indie developer, fine - nothing against that. But making it this bad unfortunately doesn't deserve a positive review. Garbage. Uninstalled.
