About ASPEN: Uncanny Home
The player can only move and zoom in.
The game is designed to be difficult and does not make big changes like most games do. The player's actions will make small changes.
the story is about deserted residential streets. Explore with phycological fears.
The secrets of the tragedy will gradually become clear through your exploration and imagination.
This story proceeds in fragments like wandering back and forth between times and dredge a river.
At the same time, memories are recalled, the process itself is depicted.
While gaining a foothold, create a foothold at the same time.
Eventually, an absurd story will be completed.
The fundamental absurdity of this world appears as a chasm. Reality exists only in that part of the world.
The Curse Will Never abandon You.

Aspen: Uncanny Home excels at atmospheric psychological horror with beautifully rendered environments, effective sound design, and genuinely creepy moments that keep players on edge. However, the game suffers from significant accessibility and clarity issues, including unclear progression mechanics, excessive aimless wandering, obtuse puzzle solutions that require zooming on objects, and potential progression-blocking bugs that leave players uncertain whether they're stuck or simply missing something.
Aspen: Uncanny Home has a beautifully rendered environment for the player to walk around in. There environment feels oppressive and claustrophobic as you wander between locations in the house wondering where a sound came from or how a doll got into a certain position. For a psychological horror game, this is a great environment, but what this game has in environment, it lacks in player accessibility. The game doesn't give the player direction and leads to aimless wandering in circles around the environment tying to figure out what changed each time and using the left mouse button to zoom in on specific items that change the environment to access the next area. There are times this is cleverly implemented such as a closet that shrinks every time the player walks around the walls or a sudden bowl of eyeballs replacing apples. But more often, I'd find myself left clicking indiscriminately while stuck in rooms because I wasn't given any clue as to what to look at or interact with which led to a LOT of time stuck in a bathroom which I was able to get out of, but I'm not sure if I glitched out or if the exit was intended (either getting stuck inside a wall or being pushed out of the ga…4 found this helpful
I am normally understanding and can even give a recommendation on a game even if it isn't my cup of tea but this game felt like an attack on my soul. I don't know if it is glitched or broken or what. You have no directions. All you can do is walk around and zoom. It starts out pretty creepy you are looking around kind of learning about a story of some murder. It starts to drag out and you go well maybe the game is glitched. BAM you get randomly attacked with a pretty good jump scare. Okay okay i like this now. You now spend 10 minutes in a locked bathroom trying to escape. You manage to get out of a locked bathroom after getting attacked but it feels like you may have glitched your way out. You keep playing and you notice small things changing in the environment after a couple minutes of playing. Well it can't be glitched then. You can't be sure what is causing the changes. Is it the amount you are walking? Is it what you are zooming into and looking at? You have no clue. By the time you are in the attic you have sunk so much time in that you need to try to finish. You start to think is this a psychological horror experiment that is being played on you? Finally you give up and you …4 found this helpful
I play a lot of horror games on my YT channel and I have to say this is one of the best games for atmosphere I've played so far, good graphics and lighting help create a pretty 'on edge' feeling whilst walking around and the constant noises throughout keep you on your toes. You do walk around a fair bit and sometimes it's difficult to know what to do next and/or what you did in the first place to progress but I've already played a few games like this and I would say this game does the process a lot better than some of the others. I have yet to complete the game so I will update my review once I've finished it, but the first part of my play through is below and will give you a feel for what the game is like. :EDIT: So I've finished the game and although in parts it can get a little monotonous, overall I would say a pretty solid game, the jump scares happen a lot towards the end which is always good, the story line could of been a little better as I still don't fully understand what was going on, also the repetitive man beating you up was done a little too much, don't get me wrong the jump scare still got me but it was like "AHHH...oh it's just you again" which I doubt is the react…1 found this helpful
If I could give Aspen a thumb to the side, I would. It does have a story and many freaky moments, but unfortunately to progress you need to have some triggers happen and if they don't, it's possible to get stuck in a spot where the story doesn't move forward and nothing happens. This is a waiting horror game, it has you waiting inside a room for 30 mins before something happens and lets you continue, it has no controls, you can only wasd very slowly and look around to read notes.
