9/10 Story is insane it's just the navigation can be hard sometimes. Very well written game :)1 found this helpful
The story is so, so good. I got completely caught up in the mystery and all the twists and turns. This is a story that is going to stick with me for a long time. The gameplay was really fun. The only issue is the occasional mistranslation or incorrect grammar, but if you can overlook that it's such a great game.
The dev got lazy and either didn't playtest or said "screw it" and released a game whose UI is egregious to deal with. Even I, with very little programming experience could probably fix the issue. A mechanic in this game is compiling the story, wherein you move blocks containing parts of the game's story. That's fine. However, when you're compiling the story, you can accidentally move a portion of the story to the wrong spot and the game softlocks. Additionally, you have to use your mouse wheel to navigate those parts of the game. I should be able to grab and drag the background. I should also be able to grab and drag the portions of the story instead of using buttons that appear beside the portions. TL;DR - VERY small, but significant changes could be made to the UI that currently is very annoying to use.
Despite traduction/grammatical issues (in English version), I liked the game and the story very much, I want to look up from which stories it's inspired, now
A real gut punch game! The art direction is great. The gameplay is in the vein of No Case Shall Remain Unsolved (which is definitely a positive for me), and while the story doesn't entirely land everything it attempts,* it has enough going on to be well worth playing. It's nearly unspeakably grim, of course. The sociohistorical grounding adds some good depth, and I'm so fascinated by the way games like this make use of several unreliable narrators who are all very convinced of their own worldviews. Very fun! The one big caveat I have is that, while the translation is mostly okay, there are a number of awkward phrases and weird word usage situations. This is especially awkward when parts of the game require doing mad libs-style puzzles to proceed. Sometimes the meaning of the word you are meant to pick is off. The categories your word list is divided into don't quite feel like they make sense in English, to the point where it felt so random I sometimes thought it would have been better to not have them at all. Sometimes it feels weird and clunky because the words don't conjugate when you place them, so you get sentences like "
I purification her.
" (not an …
