About Secrets of War

Secrets of War is a top-down shooter with stealth elements set in World War II. Sneak through the Nazi-controlled towns and areas silently or in disguise, taking enemies one by one, or go all out and shoot your way to the mission objective. The campaign missions have co-op modes in split-screen.

Story overview

It is 1943. In an attempt to turn the tides of war, the Germans are developing a secret weapon known as the Phoenix project. Your mission is to infiltrate their facilities and learn more about the project, what it is about, and how to ultimately destroy it before it does any real damage.

Mission types

Two mission types can be seen in the campaign missions: Low profile and Termination.
 • Low profile missions advise you to be stealthy and complete your objectives without being seen. Sneaking through the camp and disposing of enemies silently.
 • Termination missions give you complete freedom on how you approach the objective. You are free to be stealthy or simply go in and shoot everything on site.

Secrets of War Features

Apart from shooting people, there are different things you can do:
 • Stealth mechanics, sneak around and avoid being seen or heard
 • Find disguises that can be equipped and used. While disguised, enemies will not recognize you as a threat unless you come too close.
 • Drag dead bodies to hide them from enemy sight. If an enemy sees a dead body, he will alert nearby enemies
 • Find notes to learn more about the area and unlock optional missions
 • Collect hidden wine bottles hidden in each mission.
 • Find keys and unlock doors to better approach a mission or to simply rescue a hostage.

"I really don't want to be the only (negative) review on the store page but this game is quite frustrating for me, someone who's a midcore gamer, to play due to the lack of indicators, and I've also tried both suggested methods - going in guns blazing (playing it like an action shooter game) or sneaking around and backstabbing soldiers (stealth). Maybe it'd be more appealing to the hardcore audience, who knows?" Secrets of War is a strategy game where you can choose between only two options - either you go rambo all the way or you try to be stealthy. The thing here is that you can switch from stealthy to rambo mode but there is no way for you to turn the other way around even if the other Nazis are very far away and technically, shouldn't be able to hear your gunshots. Note that for some reason, they respond to your gun shots but not to the gunshots of their fellow men. I knived a soldier to death after he shot at me, and missed, a couple of times, but funnily enough, his brothers-in-arms didn't hear his gunshots. In previous run, I used my gun to kill the fella; and lo and behold, every Nazi in the camp, no matter how far away they are, will know who's the killer and st…
