Short, enjoyable game, easy achievements and it has a speedrun mode as well! Fun times.

[h3]Fun puzzle platformer, with some design and QOL problems here and there.[/h3] I really enjoyed the different mechanics that were introduce as the game went on; pacing-wise this game is great. Mechanics are onboarded well and never outlive their novelty. They may be basic, but the dev used them well, in my opinion. Art is also very charming and simple, and matches the game well. Music is okay, it really just loops but it did not get on my nerves. The puzzles themselves are not that difficult due to the simplistic mechanics, but that is fine! Some do require you to think a bit ahead. There is also a speedrun mode for those that are interested. On to some issues, though: - As you have a limited supply of bullets, once you run out, you have to restart the level. Dev, just give me a button like R to quickly restart without having to navigate to the menu - Nitpick, but why do I reload my chamber if I have no bullets left? - Throwing dynamite is a pain as its arc is a bit difficult to figure out. Id like there to be a dotted aiming arc if I hold down a dynamic action button so i can actually aim! - Achievements are just handed out to you, which may be fine for most, but given that…

Mixes simple puzzle platforming with fast-reaction shooting. An hour of fun for kids or adults that want to play something easier. The controller did not work properly for me. Serviceable pixel art, the music is just "there".

Highly recommend!! The game isn't very long (takes around an hour, more or less, to finish it), but it's a thoroughly enjoyable experience. For the price, its definitely worth it. [b] THE GOOD: [/b] The gameplay is great! Really well-sequenced level progression. They introduce new elements (crates, shotguns, dynamite, etc) frequently enough to keep things interesting, but also its never overwhelming. Each level presents a puzzle, and you always have the tools to solve that puzzle without ever feeling like you're being spoonfed the solutions. "Virtuous Western" has one of the best challenge-to-reward leveling curves I've seen in an indie game. Overall, incredibly satisfying game loop. The graphics are simple, but the pixel art assets have a pretty charming and consistent style throughout. The gameplay is definitely the main focus, but I still think the art is cute enough to be a selling point.
