"The New Sheriff" is certainly a novel idea for a game. It's a 2D retro pixel spin on the game "Guess Who?" but with ugly pixel "art". I have to say if games weren't a visual medium and were judged on uniqueness alone, this would be a top contender. You have to remember faces of bad guys, which you see on wanted posters, but the images don't stick around so you either have to go refresh your memory by looking at the posters again or just remember with your mind. Clever idea... and it's kind of why I have an issue with the whole "amateur" developer thing. This cool game concept was completely wasted on a garbage tier technical implementation. Imagine how wildly successful this would have been if the developer was a professional and working with a professional budget and a team of professional artists. That's how legends are made. Instead, we get this, which is, for all intents and purposes, a flop (just look at the player counts to see how well this was received by the millions of gamers on Steam). And that's a shame. This features really godawful, lazy pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do…2 found this helpful
The concept is pretty nice and original, the randomly-generated character portraits/wanted posters are cute and funny... but this is frankly unplayable. I just can't even get beyond the first town.1 found this helpful
Good game. I hope it will get more content updates.
