There are obvious points of praise like the art style and build variety, but what I found particularly impressive about this game was the way it ACTUALLY incorporated chess mechanics into the gameplay loop. I cannot wait to play more! FULL VIDEO - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oPQRdEkTk4

It's an okay survivor-like game. I enjoyed the chess enemies and how the game incorporates chess. I wish we were able to see where the enemies were planning on moving next turn. Often times it felt like I was "randomly" getting attacked because I couldn't tell where the enemies were going to go. I put randomly in quotes because I know the enemies light up when they are going to attack, versus they go gray when they can't attack, but I still think having a way to see their future movements would help a lot. The powers in the game are interesting enough, and relics allow for some variety of builds. I don't think this game is worth sinking 20+ hours into, but it's fun to boot up every once in a while.

Was told to practice chess so i did! Only 26 minutes in and my knowledge has eclipsed theirs 10x. Do you know candice? (discovered attacked) Yes yes, she a solid little roguelite or whatever. Will know more in a few hours, no regrets already for the humor value. You get like 10 games in one, you playing paosho, ping pong, etc (jk) Well, it does feel like it could grant us more true chess insites.... somehow... oh well.

It's... okay. Not being able to see the moves the enemies will take really makes it hard, once the game gets moving there's so much happening at once it's hard to predict anything. A lot of chaos, and given that its supposed to be turn based, but fast, it feels like im pressured into making mistakes frequently.

Gameplay is decent, fun concept but lacking some depth.

I like it when he says "YOYO" every half a second
