About Hands of Necromancy

You are a Necromancer: a lone sorcerer who seeks to grow ever more powerful and learn new forms of dark magic. You spend your days searching for challengers to fight, so you can hone your wicked craft. But while you destroy myriads of monsters, none of them seem truly worth the fight...

Until one day, all of a sudden, more and more dangerous creatures start entering your world. You know something is wrong; however, this might just be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for! It’s time to prove your might and show everyone you truly are the fearsome mage you always knew yourself to be!

Explore varied and wonderfully detailed environments - from lush countryside, deep forests, haunting cemeteries, vast castles, ice caves, smoldering volcanoes, and more - all teeming with danger to prove yourself against, as their denizens try their best to destroy you.

Wield devastating weapons, cast powerful spells and undergo gruesome transformations to vanquish your foes, using their own powers against them and bending nature itself to your will - don’t let your slain enemies rest, but curse them with undeath and make them serve you, Necromancer!

Use the Tornado Spell to toss your enemies aside, the Ring of Ice to freeze them solid, or even the Unholy Hand Grenade to blow them to smithereens!
Learn new transformations as you grow in power - become the Swamp Serpent to slither through tight spaces and breathe underwater, the Stone Breaker Golem to smash walls into tiny bits, the Hell Burner Demon to safely walk on lava; or even a Wyvern to soar through the air!

You will need to utilize all the abilities at your disposal to defeat the countless, sinister creatures in this metroidvania FPS, as you explore 21 varied maps split between 3 giant, exciting hubs!

A fun retro shooter that really captures that classic Heretic vibe with its dark fantasy aesthetic and complex, vertical level design. While the actual necromancy mechanics feel a bit tacked on, juggling the various magical weapons and transforming your body to tear through hordes of monsters is deeply satisfying.

When fans identified the use of Al art in the trailer for their latest game, and calmly explained why they didn't feel comfortable supporting this, the devs hastily uploaded an Al use disclaimer and swiftly banned those users en masse from the discussion forums. I can overlook the AI use, as it was actually quite minor. What I can’t overlook is punishing people for expressing legitimate concerns, treating them like villains, and ultimately acting far sketchier than simply failing to divulge an AI asset. Just something to consider if you plan on supporting these devs, their sequel, or the upcoming Hordes of Necromancy. Because they certainly don’t support your opinion, however legitimate.

while there is no AI in this game, most of the art for the newest game in the series is Traced AI art, which is just sad. be better

Hands of Necromancy is an accidental retro Hexen/Heretic clone. Seriously, this game really disappoints in many of the areas it claims would be its strengths. The map design is awful, the combat is annoying at times, and the weapons barely do any damage. Enemies often seem to ignore being hit entirely. The gargoyles are like pestering flies in the summertime, constantly popping up out of nowhere. In general, enemies seem to sneak up on you, detected by the player only when it is already too late. Map Design and Gameplay The first map is okay, but things get worse immediately afterward. The visual setting doesn’t feel fitting to me somehow. The atmosphere of the originals is still better—even three decades later. You need to memorize the maps, which can take some time depending on your sense of direction. Using GZDoom’s advanced features, such as setting map markers, can help with navigation. Still, there’s no real reason to explore every corner, since achievements don’t work in GZDoom anyway. In some areas, there are so many enemies to fight with such useless weapons that I seriously doubt the developers or testers knew what they had cobbled together. The spellbook that casts…

Love Quake and Doom this feels like a nice fresh breath air. So it's the usually heavily inspired by both franchises and ran with a inventory system to hold all sorts of different spells like transformations or summon monsters with a nice variety of weapons that won't feel from the others like a knockoff! This stands on it's own way while not sacrificing gameplay love older FPS you will love this and all this gives! Story is simple Necromancer looking for power quest!
