About The Devil's Face

Gamestory

Jonathan, our hero, is a second-generation Christian Orthodox immigrant. He and his brother Christian were involved in a car accident. Jonathan, the driver, was able to escape from the burning vehicle, but Christian was not so lucky. Tragically, Jonathan watched as his brother burned to death. Wracked with guilt over not being able to save his brother and haunted by strange visions, Jonathan decided to end his own life.

However, this began his journey to the afterlife, where he will be judged for his actions and forced to live eternally in the hell, he has created for himself.

The Devil's Face is based on the beliefs of an existing pagan sect and the "The Book of Demons" accounts of the afterlife. It is aimed at players who want to experience a horror game with a deeper meaning.

Footnotes

Dear players, I am the creator of the game and I am proud to present to you our latest work, a horror game inspired by the beliefs of an existing pagan sect and influenced by various movies and games. However, our goal was to give it its own unique identity. This is our first attempt at a serious horror game, and creating it was quite a challenge, especially with our aging computers. The game features an engaging story, with plenty of jump scares and messages to convey. We wanted to bring back the classic horror game experience with a modern twist, so it won't take hours to complete. We've also added some special "gifts" for players in real life. I hope you enjoy playing our game and have a great time.
Best regards,
Tzavis.

Highly Recommended This is one of the most memorable horror experiences I’ve played in a long time. The visuals are stunningly surreal, leaning into a trippy, dreamlike atmosphere that keeps you unsettled from start to finish. The writing and voice acting are top-notch too — you’ll spend a lot of time referencing your book of demons as you navigate the eerie, looping afterlife sequences, and the dialogue feels sharp and meaningful. While it starts with shades of P.T., it quickly establishes its own identity, blending psychological horror with strong narrative beats and clever design. Multiple endings and hidden secrets give it great replay value. If you’re into story-driven horror that’s as weird as it is haunting, this is an absolute must-play — and a dev I’ll definitely be following for whatever comes next.

Not great. Most of the story is relaying on the main menu. After that it's just a confusing mess, with more camera cuts than Requiem for a Dream. It also didn't get me to warm to it at the start, with having a very hard to spot key drop out from behind a painting that I needed a walkthrough to spot, and then it seemed to bug out and not allow a critical door to open, and forced me to load an earlier save (also spotted via walkthrough). It's not really scary, there's a couple of jump scares but it's mostly about channelling you through a linear series of rooms and spouting christian-flavoured hocus pocus at you. Avoid
