Dark Atlas: Infernum

As unique as this game was, I have to say it's really not for me. I originally played this game when it came out and didn't feel too invested in it because it felt slow, boring, the enemy AI felt cheap, and the game tried to do too much with a bunch of puzzles that had you running through multiple areas back-and-forth to solve them. I put the game away at the beginning of chapter 3 and I've decided to revisit it. I'm on the puzzle with the light bulbs and I do understand the puzzle but the moment I step out of the first room, even if I'm crouched, the invisible enemy is already on the way to get me and I barely have time to run or hide anywhere. It's caused me to lose so many times in a short amount of time and I don't think that's what I would consider a good horror game. Nothing felt scary, it still feels boring to me, and I just can't continue it. I'm going to completely remove it from my account so I don't have to be reminded of it.

DISCLAIMER: I haven't finished the game yet, and plan to update this review as and when I have finished it :) As somebody who thoroughly enjoys franchises such as Silent Hill and Resident Evil, I have been finding this game to hit the right spot if you're craving a dark, moody and slightly gothic atmosphere. As other reviews have also said, the game seems to take a lot of inspiration from Amnesia. I'm currently on chapter 2 out of the 4 chapters in the game, and even though I haven't consumed any outside media related to the story, it's been very intriguing and well-developed. Some things to note are the fact that I very much prefer the Spanish dubbing of the game, the voice actor for the villain is amazing! I also had to play around with the graphics and sensitivity settings a little bit at first, as the default settings to me felt very offputting, however easily fixed. I recommend turning the brightness up a lot more as sometimes I needed to do this to be able to find certain clues or puzzles, as they are very well hidden. Dark Atlas: Infernum is a thrilling horror experience with stunning graphics and a story that pulls you in from the start. The atmosphere is intense, and the narrative flows seamlessly, keeping you engaged the whole way through. The skeleton monsters can be a bit relentless at times and a little too much throughout the game, but that just adds to the challenge and tension. Overall, it's a solid, fun game for fans of the horror genre! The game includes a prologue and four chapters. My total play time was a little over 11 hours. Well done Devs....thank you!

This game is good in many ways, it's a love letters to those like the hide and seek mode. But the team of devs, very small, is also very kind. If you will encounter any bug, please, wait, they will come with a patch cause they really care about their work.
