About Aoi Tori
A visual novel about Shiratori Ritsu, the sole male at Kirihara Academy for Girls and its priest, protects the school from demons but finds his sanity tested by the arrival of a new student, the one-hundred-year-old vampire Mary Harker, and a call from the devil, questioning his purpose in life.
November, the start of winter.
Kirihara Academy for Girls, a missionary boarding school located in the remote Japanese mountains.
It's here we find our protagonist, Shiratori Ritsu, the sole male allowed on campus and the school priest.
Never once has he set foot outside the academy grounds, which protect him from demons lusting after him.
But the girls of this academy come to him, believing he's their guardian angel, and he obliges.
For he is burdened by the death of a girl, which strengthened his resolve to make others happy.
This constant mix of the holy and the sinful has him just barely holding onto his sanity.
And the sudden arrival of a new girl raises the curtain on a whole new story.
For she is the one-hundred-year-old vampire, Mary Harker.
However, her infiltration of the academy brings with it another surprise... Namely, a phone call from the devil.
Can these powers of his truly bring joy to people's hearts? For what reason was he born?
This is a tale of life, woven into prayer.

She's enrolled in the academy and is now the protagonist's classmate.
Despite her tragic past, she remains a loveable airhead.

She shows up at the academy one day and becomes his classmate.
She'll say whatever comes to mind, often revealing her surprisingly lecherous side.

Though she's sensitive to danger, she doesn't let fear stop her in her tracks.

Has known the protagonist from her days of skipping class, so she reveals her true self around him.
The protagonist's classmate, as well as the smartest person at the academy. Has a perfect memory,
Indifferent to how other people feel, her incredible genius often leads her to act in ways considered off-putting or unacceptable by many.
She's taken a particular interest in the only man around, the protagonist.
She's Risa's younger sister, and the two get along well.

I want to drag it out of the beautiful sky and lock it, and the happiness it represents, in a bird cage. I want to strangle it, to chop off its wings, and beat it to the ground, and to trample it underfoot. If I could do that... Ah. It would be bliss enough to heal the heart.」[/h1] One of many great quotes from this game, not my favorite one but I think this is the most important quote for the narrative. For a VN that started out with an H-scene, the story is quite heavy. The ending definitely had me feeling fuzzy inside, tragedy and happiness go great together. After playing all the routes I will die on the hill that Mary is the best character. Also I HATE the devil, they were funny at times though.1 found this helpful
As of writing this review, I have only completed Mary's route, but I already have strong feelings about Aoi Tori. Overall, it is a beautifully crafted visual novel, though it does have a few pacing issues. [h2]The Pros:[/h2] [u]Stunning Artwork:[/u] Visually, the game is a masterpiece. As expected from Koku, the art style is absolutely impeccable. The character designs and CGs are gorgeous and truly a feast for the eyes. Immersive Audio: The soundtrack is another major highlight. The OP and the various BGMs are not just beautiful to listen to, but they also do an incredible job of establishing a rich, melancholic, and deeply immersive atmosphere. [u]Elegant Prose: [/u]The writing style is genuinely beautiful and poetic. It never feels dry or like a bland slice-of-life filler; the text has a certain elegance that keeps you fully engaged. A Masterful Prologue: The prologue deserves special praise. It is exceptionally well-written, setting up the emotional stakes perfectly and leaving a profound, lasting impression that draws you right into the story. blue bird
One of the few stories where I genuinely find it hard to figure out who I'm supposed to dislike, which is ironic considering how the main character is supposedly the antichrist. I love the characters in this game, the voice acting, personality, designs, they're all amazing. These characters have become some of my favourite characters in fiction through this games use of character development and even amazing comedy. I could go on for longer about the ost and art but it's self explanatory at how good they are. Mary Harker: I don't think anyone could dislike a route where you get to do cute things with a cute vampire girl. Despite this routes lovey-dovey theme to it, it still somehow manages to be incredibly plot heavy and have good twists throughout, especially since Mary is one of the best written characters in the game. Kurosaki Sayo: If you liked the cute atmosphere of Mary's route then you're going to be disappointed when you read this. I'm not going to spoil the story so all I'm going to say is, be prepared. This part is more of a personal thing on my end so I won't delve too far but I did enjoy Mary's route more than I did with Sayo's, not a big fan of goth girls I suppose …
the ost, characters, and h scenes were great. the reveal and ending were absolute cinema. sayo's and akari's routes were especially well written and story's the parallel to The Blue Bird is meaningful. thank you purple software
